I think it shows the difference between wrestling eras. They didn't have monthly ppvs in the 80s and early 90s. They certainly didn't have world titles defended on TV for free. People would hold belts for years pretty much without fans being bored of them.
@lonzodreyella2 күн бұрын
ive been saying this for decades...curt hennig should have been wwf wwe champion...but what about paul orndorff, lex luger and rick martel he was awa champion.
@StevenRaynes192 күн бұрын
Hart dorsnt get enough credit for starting the attitude era. Bret made the Mr McMahon character. Started the swearing on tv with the this is bs everybody is screwing promo after losing the title on a Raw. Being a face and heel at the same time.

"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff should have beaten Hulk Hogan for the title. He had the looks, he could wrestle & he had Bobby "The Brain" Heenan as a manager. Hogan wouldn't put Orndorff over so WWE dropped the ball on that one. Such a shame.

Fricking hell...cant believe its nearly 2 decades since we lost Eddie...I've only cried twice for people I had no personal connection too, Eddie was one of them...And I truly believe this set the course for what happened just over 18 months later... Eddie Lied, Cheated and Stole...our hearts and broke them

@@JoshhyWrestling Yeah, that fateful weekend in June 2007, still weighs heavy on me, because I loved Benoit, a few of Benoits friends also died around the time he did, notably Sherri Martel and Shayne 'Biff Wellington' Bower (One of Benoits early Tag Team Partners in, I think, Stampede). But while I'm not excusing what Benoit did, or in the minds of some, didn't do...WWE ultimately failed Benoit, they should never have put him on TV, what you see when he gives his tribute is a totally broken and should have took him off the road to get counselling...Thats all I have to say about that's another topic for another time... Anyway keep up the good work pal, keep up with the good content and your numbers gradually rise

A lot of these were on a single champion era when the belt wasn't tossed around. The champion was always gonna be a Hogan, Warrior or Hitman. Occasionally for a short while a Sheik, Yokozuna, Taker or Michaels. The Dream Dusty Rhodes got actually offered a WWE contract with him being the charismatic face of the company. He didn't have faith in WWE and turned the offer down. Hogan took his place.

Scott Hall could of at least been transional, Jake Roberts should of been the one to dethrone in the late 80s with that iconic unaired snakepit segment Owen Hart would of won the title off of a Kliq member if he didn’t tragically die Davey boy just couldn’t fight his demons and Roddy Piper challanging Ric Flair for the belt after flair beat Savage would of been great and Piper drops the title to Bret Hart

@@JoshhyWrestling most of the guys on the list wouldn't draw a dime. Sadly people who know too much about the business like Cornette and others usually like guys who are boring and only pull a small hardcore crowd. That's the reason Hogan and warrior drew so much money with limited ring work. Their look itself was enough to market them and make them a success.

A couple of people on this list were liabilities, some were champion in other territories, but most never wanted the responsibility or were just not seen in that light.

I think it’s best to edit this video and call it “top 10 to never win the WWE Championship.” Because even though these contrarian nerds knew that’s probably what you meant, they still pile on to “correct” you that Hennig was champion in a third rate promotion (even as they can see 40 other people have already pointed this out.) wrestling fans are such insufferable, chronically online shut-ins. And with that, here’s my top 10 to never win THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP (did you clowns get that?) in no particular order. 1. Roddy Piper 2. Dusty Rhodes 3. Razor Ramon 4. Goldust 5. British Bulldog 6. Owen Hart 7. Mr Perfect 8. Jake the Snake 9. Ted DiBiase 10. William Regal
