The road that I am familiar with is in Oklahoma and is a dirt and gravel backroad. No black-top! Must be East-West 40. 10:30 My grandparents even saw it and said it was SPOOKY looking, as were some of the other onlookers. My cousin used to live very close to where folks stopped to watch.

I lived in Tulsa in the mid-1970s and traveled to my hometown in PA frequently. I happened to read an article about the spooklight in the Tulsa newspaper. I stopped to see it several times. It always appeared as twilight approached. The Spooklight Museum was there at that time and I met and had long talks with Garland "Spooky" Middleton. The light sometimes looked like approaching headlights of an oncoming car. But it disappeared before it reached me and then reappeared elsewhere, sometimes behind me. I saw it in the woods beside the road. Once I stopped on a downgrade and got out of my car to watch it. It was in front of me, but disappeared. As I turned to get back into my car it reappeared behind my car coming up over the hill behind. It popped up and then disappeared almost if it sensed that I saw it. I was perfectly sober. It was there and I have no Idea what it was, but it was real.

It changes colors and goes back and forth in the road. Appears to come closer and closer. I have noticed that if it is dusky out (sort of foggy) it will not show, but on all clear nights it will be there, for sure! If you notice it is dusky at all, don't go, if you want to see it. I have proved this over and over.
