Hallo Molly. Thank you for your honest comment. We Grace Villa are amongst the service providers you are talking about. We were given the mandate by our district to lead this event. The money to put it together was raised by us and several other Child Service Providers in Kabale because we knew how important it would be. And indeed it was one of the most powerful, impactful days we have had in a while. First: it was all about the children, and over 1,000 children turned up for this day dedicated just to them. Leading up to the event, we held a children’s symposium at Grace Villa where the kids discussed amongst themselves what issues they face. Even just that round table was powerful for their self esteem, & they left comforted in knowing they are not alone in their struggles, and that someone is listening. Then they chose a child representative, 8 year old Martina, who read these issues in a speech, during the main event. Before they left, we fed ALL of them. Even just the 3 points above would have made the day worth it.
