I was seriously considering taking up BJJ, but it appears that although it can be mitigated, there is a real chance of a long-lasting injury. I'm 42 and in good shape, but I want to keep it that way.

It doesn't matter how strong your neck and back are. The discs shrink and the vertebrae start to rub together leading to stenosis. By 60 years old 90% of people have significant spinal stenosis. It simply sucks being mortal.

You can mimic this by just laying on your back, lifting up your head and looking left to right slowly! No expensive equipment needed. This has fixed and improved my neck issues, so I could see why someone would by this, but a waste of your home gym budget to me.

I tried everything including what you mentioned , nothing has got rid of my neck pain like this thing. Sucks they chose to price it so high simply because they own the patent… 100-200$ would be reasonable. 500 is ridiculous. But I do not regret spending it 🤷🏼

@thatguyoverthere2288Ай бұрын
@0_Salohcin_0 I feel amazing! Woke up with instant relief after the surgery. Just follow their post op and rehab instructions to the letter. Lumbar is gonna be a lil diff than cervical though. I just had to wear a neck brace, dunno what they'll do to minimize your torso mobility.

@thatguyoverthere2288 Thanks, man. I'm only 24 and have an ankle implant soon to be spine implant. And I want to go back to training Muay Thai and BJJ. I wrestled since 4th grade and played football for 4 years. I still feel like I shouldn't have to go through this at this age. But this gives me hope.

I got my Iron Neck about a week ago and loved it. I always believed in having a strong neck with a strong body. I used to do neck exercise using a head harness that I bought at a sport store many years ago. I stopped using weights and started using heavy bends instead, which is a lot safer in more ways than one. So, the Iron Neck in that same category. The Iron Neck is better and more comfortable than using a harness even though, I also recently bought one of Iron Necks harnesses. I'm going to try and figure a way how to use that using bands as an addition with the Iron Neck.

I get balance issues that feel like vertigo after doing these exercises . Its not immediate but it comes a few hours after. Also, feel a bit of nausea. Do you have any tips? Or is this something that happens when you're first starting out?
@feoleb7 ай бұрын
when ligaments are strained in the upper cervical spine, and muscles are tired and tendons are strained, all the supporting structures of c1 are looser than normal and allow additional movement. c1 movement is used to affect your balance. Your brain uses that as a metric. So when it moves and your eyes and your head aren't moving it confuses your brain and you get vertigo. If it's slight vertigo I suppose that's ok but be careful. You do not want an injury in that area. Better to do it at a resistance and reps that require effort but don't result in vertigo. Im not an expert with this device but I've been dealing with craniocervical instability for three years.
