I graduated from Highschool in summer 1982. The soundtrack of this time for me has been the Album 85555 by the german Band Spliff. i miss their Hits in this list. :-(

A hundred memories - some of them felt like gut punches - listening to these songs. July 1973 I arrived in America. Just for a holiday I thought. Met an American on Rhodes, in Greece. We both lived there. We bought an Austin Healey and drove across country, NY to LA on Route 40. Married and I stayed. A chance meeting in the same village, Faliraki on Rhodes, brought me to America. I’d had no desire to visit. Maybe a little because I liked The Beach Boys. Now, I’m an American, British born.

Born in 2001 with an old soul, an absolute love for songs, films, cars, etc. from the 50s-80s. I wish i could travel back to that time and experience it first hand. before the horrid problems of today. a simpler time. with more respectful, responsible people. less fakeness. I was born completely in the wrong generation.

These was the music of my life and times - from Sr. Year H.S. to enlisting in the USAF - Jan 65 to September 67. I still know the words to absolutely every one of these songs. WLS and WCFL in Chicago were the backing sounds of my days. And most recall an interesting memory, some fondly, some not so much.

I was thinking these were ranked by number of weeks at #1. Can't be, though, because some of these songs never got to #1. 'People' did not. 'Bread and Butter' did not. Probably others.

In 1969 i bought me a 1969 Z/28 right off the showroom floor with the DZ 302 engine, solid lifters, no A/C or power steering (super fast) it was my treat to myself after getting home from Nam. If i still had it today I'd be rich. What a fantastic year and the music was awesome 👨‍🦳

1967, all in a single year, these songs and many more. There were two or three years at the very peak, '67 was one of them. &0's of course were different, very very good too. Listen-able rock music ended by 2000. Now it's popularity that sells, rather than skill.
