I remember Dust 514 being made available just as CCP was getting ready to abandon the lore library. They made a story connecting Dust to the EVE universe, but it wasn't up to the standards of storytelling from before.

It’s not engaging or “fun” in any way to me. I think the gun customization 6 months ago was a step in the right direction, but the gunplay isn’t good enough for a standalone fps.

I'm liking it so far, but it's still *very* early in development and so a lot of fundamental things are still being fleshed out. Still, I think the devs are making decent pace and things are getting added and polished often enough that there's pretty regularly stuff to look forward to

In curious what the plans are for this. So far im not seeing a money incentive and you said that the only tie in to the main eve world so far is effecting corruption for FW. Is theres other ways this is supposed to tie into the main eve world?

For the First Strike and Solstice playtests they'd just setup the link one way, Vanguard Events could influence EVE Online but not the other way around, now they're working a bi-directional link, this will enable things like 'Contraband' to be moved between games. I think they'll avoid direct ISK transfers between games for a while, don't want to flood the Vanguard market with ISK straight away

I miss it a lot it would be a great game on the new consoles it's crazy to think they just took it down there's not many games to this day with as many upgrades you can unlock there was so much depth to it

Not sure about that. It's an early play test. A beta in essence. Not many early plays give you a full look at the whole game. Considering the Dust 514 and the 20 years Eve pedigree I'm looking forward to Vanguard.

Wish they'd let people that aren't Omega. Seems weird that CCP is branching out from anything they've done so far, but limit it severely. Need to let people that are familiar with games like what it is so they can pick it apart which leads to a more successful launch.

It was entertaining hearing someone saying they're fighting a ship in orbit during Corporation PC battles and felt a little more immersive.

just an other extraction shooter but behind the wave. the peak was Helldivers imo. and I won't play if i can't play my dropship.... never found a game where i could drop people on battlefield with a dropship. best feeling ever

I think the extraction element is overblown, it's probably just the quickest game mode they could implement. To me the missions credits being worth way more than anything you can loot and the inability to upgrade your gear in match means it doesn't fit the extraction mould

Still no Gunnlogi or Madrugars, flaylock pistols, bolt guns, laser rifles, swarm launchers, scrambler rifles, forge guns and so forth. This game just feels so dry even the Dust 514 Beta (early 2013 build) was way better than this and I remember playing it for hours on end while I only played Vanguard for less than an 30mins before i got bored. CCP has really let us down with Vanguard, why couldn't they just take what made Dust 514 good and just transfer it over?

@@TheyCommanderBacara I have posted a few comments, myself citing the lack of weapon diversity, but after going through multiple videos from CCP, it’s clear that they are focusing on the fundamentals in the early access and beta, and then more weapons will come when the game itself launches. Looking back, I kind of feel silly for not thinking about it, but how on earth would eve with its tremendous tech diversity in game launch a shooter with one weapon?

This was such a great game the tanks and dropships were just amazing even the little cars with mines strapped to the front honestly best game I ever played

I loved the variety in the game, for individual matches there was always a different approach you could take like bringing out the tanks or a speedy uplink dropping scout. Longer term there was always something new to skill into and different ways to optimise your dropsuit loadouts

The Carrion map doesn't seem very suitable for vehicles but we'll have to see what the new map in June is like

Targeting consoles definitely opened them up to a new audience, it's why I started playing, so it did have positives! I'd say it's more about how they went about developing it, they needed to embed the idea all throughout the game that "we will need to port this to the next gen". When the PS3 died quicker than expected they scrambled to cobble something together (Legion) and prematurely killed their player base with the Rouge Wedding
