I really am happy I found your videos and congratulations! It took me till now at 26 to realize what I really want to do. I used to ride a harley 05 sportster and loved riding. Used to do small work on my bike not knowing shit before but taking the time to research an figure it out. Two months ago had a fallout with life an my living situation and had to start all over again an really reconsider what I want to do, what drives me an pulls me out of my dark places, and I just miss working an riding on my old bike. I started to go looking at bike or looking at bikes nearby that need small handywork done. And I realize I want to work on bikes. I'm starting to look now around southwestern CT for shops in need of some general help or possibly an apprentice.

Bro I'm new to helmets & the helmet I have shortlisted says the visor is anti fog. So, would I need pinlock or this with my helmet?
@WIGSLYАй бұрын
If the visor has the pins then you can use a pin lock. If it doesn’t then you need this product.

How would one do this if no one in the area is looking for a apprentice? I am willing to learn. for free, outside of my regular 9-10 hour job if someone would be willing to teach me. I really want to be a motorcycle technician :(

Idk how I came across this a year after you posted haha. I'm in the same boat of being a novice tech getting into this at 28. When you said MI, it caught me off guard being that I work at a dealership in Warren. Even with the off days, this industry is worth it. 🤙

Here is a solution that does use helmet mics but provides very good audio. The My GoPro is out front of the windshield with a wireless receiver and the mic adapter. My helmet has a Cardo, two short cables, wireless transmitter and a second mic. It sounds great ! I found a much better solution to all the cables that are needed in the approach used here in this video. You can replace two cables with one. The splitter and attenuator with one cable. It is called "LIne to Mic, attenuator with headphone monitor". I tried to find this cable on the EU Amazon but couldn't. It is available here in the US. I bought this cable and installed my Cardo and now only have two cables (the Sterio separator and the new cable). It works great with less the mess. AND - for more fun I added a wireless mic transmitter and attached to my helmet (very small unit right next to my Cardo) and the receiver is with the mic adapter and my Hero 10 out in front of my windshield for great clutter free (no handlebar or windshield) video. This is one slick setup. Enjoy Wigsly. See my channel for my video on the install: kzbin.info/www/bejne/joi5lZmNmKaGfbM&ab_channel=trekOCLVone And here is the link for the cable: www.amazon.com/dp/B004VIOZSK?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

You weren't kidding when you said it would change my life. On the Sena that goes in the saddle, can I mute myself (the Sena in my helmet) so I can only get the audio from the other riders? I want to record my voice on the GoPro mic separately and combine both audio in post.

Stumbled upon this video while looking for tips on being a first time motorcycle tech. Loved your honesty, and your humility. I'm 24, and I've done a ton of hands on jobs, building equipment for airplanes, submarines, other electronic components, I was an aluminum mig welder, and I went to school for motorcycle technology and received a cert. For it. I'm a certified motorcycle tech... Cool. But the way you're talking about it shows shop experience, which I lack. I'm hoping to hear good news from an interview I had for a dealership today. I enjoyed hearing about your experiences. Keep it up man. You earned my sub. 🤙🤙🤙

@@WIGSLY oh that's good to know. I needed a new helmet for everyday use, but I was on the fence about the Cena helmet, since I'm a Shoei guy and never rode in anything else. I ended up going with the Arai Defiant-X which is a premium lid as well and was almost $240 bucks off on sale. Still ran me about $450 bucks, and I still have to buy a comm system. I'm glad that Cena worked out for you, I might get it as well later on.
