You are so talented. You’ll have to teach me how to make a junk journal someday. I love the front page with the picture of you with the little crown! My words for 2024 are “Create” and “Authenticity” Looks like we are both struggling with perfectionism. Here’s to letting go of that in 2024! In the wise words of Mrs. Frizzle, “It’s time to take chances, make mistakes, AND GET MESSY!”

Do you still have the .pdf file for this flower? It isn't in the list of cartridge handbooks on the Cricut website anymore.
@sallymakes Жыл бұрын
I do not. Do you mean the instructions? Or, the cut file?
@lizzajoy Жыл бұрын
@sallymakes the instructions... I actually took screenshots from your video to put together the cartridge handbook, so I should be good for now. I think what makes the construction so confusing is that the slits are SO much smaller than the tabs. If I use these flowers again, I'll lengthen those cuts so the tabs fit without having to do any extra cutting.

I numbered my embossing folders and the samples. I cut the samples down to a smaller size if they were just backgrounds. The embossing folders fit in a mini crate. Keep the samples in front of all the embossing folders. That way I can flip through the samples easily and find the corresponding numbered embossing folder easily. Works for me and didn't cost more than a dollar for the mini-crate at Walmart.
@sallymakes Жыл бұрын
Great idea! That would be easier to flip through and probably holds more folders.

You may've already figured this out since this video is a year old (or you may not be making them any more), but I wrap a piece of packaging tape around the dowel I put in the pen at the place that sticks out of the pen because epoxy doesn't (or shouldn't) stick to packaging tape. I am also very careful about trying to not have any run over the end, but accidents do happen. So far, I haven't had any stick. I know that you can use vaseline too, but I don't want to have to deal with wiping that mess out. Also, I know you mentioned have some epoxy that didn't cure. Be careful that your two parts are almost exactly even or it won't cure and that it is mixed well. I know that it says to mix for 2-3 minutes, but I never mix mine less than 4 just to be on the safe side. Your pens turned out pretty, by the way. 🙂
@sallymakes Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the tip with the tape. I haven't made anymore pens, but if I do, I will use the tape for sure!

I don’t get how to make an envelope for a 4x6 card. I gave up☹️
@sallymakes2 жыл бұрын
If you use the measurements for an A2 card size, it should work. It will just be a bit big.
@timh7246Ай бұрын
a 4x6 card is an A6, so use the printed instructions on the triangle tool in this post that go with the A6 dimensions: start with a 9" square piece of paper, score A lines at 3 & B lines at 3 3/4.

It really looks amazing. You did super well outside your comfort zone! I have an idea. Do you still have the piece of acetate that broke off? You could reattach it below the top piece with 3-4 large jump rings, leaving a slight gap. And you could carry the sprays a bit down to the bottom piece for continuity. Could look awesome!
@sallymakes2 жыл бұрын
That would look really good! Unfortunately, it was only tiny bits that broke off. I think I'll just leave it. It's hard to notice it. Thanks for the share!
