This Eddy Grant connected outfit is good,Eddy of course was in The Equals, but also had connections to The Sundae Times and 32nd Turnoff who issued an album a piece "Us Coloured Kids'& a self titled album for 32nd Turnoff, so Eddy was a busy man in the late 60s, eventually having a heart attack at aged 23 , though neither The Equals back catalogue,nor Zapatta Schmidt, The Sundae Times or 32nd Turnoff albums have been reissued.

How artistically daring… 5 minutes featuring vocal virtuosity.. no lyrics to support. I’ve heard Van say when asked what it was about certain music he liked and he simply said, “the sound.” The Sound of this vocal performance is simply wonderful.

This is an excellent and very enjoyable LP - every song is great. One of my very favourite Country Joe albums. Country Joe goes disco, funky, soul or whatever people want to call it. Unfortunately I think he copped a bit of backlash from the narrow minded rock press, so maybe he was discouraged. Superb musicians and production too. Loved You're The Song, Oh No & Colortone immensely.

Beyond Words is fitting for this song. From a higher voice to a lower voice. Simply amazing. When pics or videos of Van run through my memory there is a calming effect. The red haired Irish man known famously for his musical accomplishments in the music industry.
