I'm curious if anyone over these 11+ years noticed that this incredible AMV for "Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann"... does not have its title character of Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann. This didn't feature the galaxy-sized mecha the entire show was building up to & utilized for a fantastic finale, but we were so swept up in the rhythm & energy of the editing that we didn't even notice... & I bet even after reading this, nobody even cares, because it's actually just THAT awesome of a journey we're being taken on & absolutely rocking out to. Definitely one of the worthiest additions to my playlist of Favorite Edits! (^u^)d

This highlights a piece of Anime fandom that I believe every single person has encountered: mistaking one character for another. Whether in heated debates or passing thoughts, joy or rage, it happens a lot. I have had my share of accidental name mix-ups, and personally find it fun whenever people decide characters in different universes _have_ to be related (like Yuuji and Anya) I had never even thought about the Galo vs Kamina, but there are just some really brilliant comparisons here. Seeing Toga vs the vampire girl (sorry fans), I remember feelin they had the same vibe and really similar faces. I'm not gonna lie: I'm not great at complementing specifics in fantastic art. When it all comes together perfectly, it's difficult to then pick it apart. HOWEVER. As someone who has been obsessed with AMVs for over a decade, _this._ This is special. Much like the Anime 404 amv, there's more to it than just a lot of well-mixed pieces that vibe to a song. TL;DR -- 👌
