Just did the Lower Antelope Canyon tour, 11-26-24 with our guide named Alyssa. Had a knee injury but she was patient and explained everything thoroughly and helped take some great pictures. Didn't realize it was so narrow in some places and if you have big feet or if you have a little body weight to you, I don't recommend you going because you will need to fit in tight spaces and climb but well worth it. Glad I went when it wasn't hot but Truly beautiful!

The wild part is you see the grandeur of the canyon, and then you go to the visitor center and see a diorama that shows you the part you're looking at is only like 2% of it.

Nothing quite like that anywhere in the world! But the U.S. has many other one of a kind spectacular, the Sequoia Big Trees...

Just got back from down there. My favorite was doing the Wildcat Trail hike in Monument Valley. I did just the lower Antelope Canyon and I believe it was half the price of the upper. I got great pics and I had a great time!

My wife and I did trips to Utah and Colorado. Spent 3 days in Salt Lake City, and spent 4 days in Zion, so we missed the other Utah sites. In Colorado, we went to Garden of the gods, Mesa Verde and RMNP. If you love the exotic variety of desert, Utah is better than Colorado. If you love larger mountains and greenery, Colorado is better. I am from Kentucky where everything is green, so I will have to go with Colorado. I admit I did not see all of the other spectacular sites in Utah.

I grew up in Page (70’s and 80’s) and there was no tour. As kids, we use to visit the canyons and lake whenever we wanted. Page has changed over the years. Antelope Point marina did not exist either.

I think there’s some sort of obsession among KZbinrs about finding parking in Zion. "Be there early or you’ll have to park in town and use the shuttle!" Honestly, I’d say don’t stress about finding parking in the park itself. Get a good night's sleep like a normal person, go at a convenient time, and park in Springdale. Parking there isn’t expensive, and the shuttle bus is free. But honestly, is it even worth taking the shuttle? Walking 3-4 bus stops takes only about 7-10 minutes. Come on!

I'm a carnivore. I tried to eat a vegetable once and almost threw up. It was chewy, almost tasteless, and stringy. They called it a green bean. Yuck. I had to drench it in butter just to get it down. Why would people eat such things?

We hiked down South Kaibab to Phantom Ranch and then to Ribbon Falls and back out the Bright Angel trail over a 3 day period a few years ago. We stayed at Phantom Ranch both nights. The canyon is beautiful from the rim, but you see a lot of things down in the canyon that you don't see from the rim. South Kaibab has some great views because you are mostly on a ridge line. Bright Angel is mostly in a canyon so the views aren't as expansive.

Yes, Antelope Canyon has gotten crowded. Yes, it is an out of this world type of place. Glad you liked the scene. You were allowed a visit into a Family's Back Yard. I believe the family and their employees do the best with overwhelming numbers of visitors. Yes. Family owned, not tribal owned. Restrooms & parking could be improved too. Safe travels.

The GC is much larger than it looks. From the rim you cannot judge the size because there are no objects to compare to, like trees. When you begin to walk down inside the Grand Canyon you realize that it is TWICE AS BIG as it looks.

I live in LA and that location is the only location I know of that is set up that way. There is a location though near my house that doesn't have tables inside or outside. You can order inside, drive through, or park where they come to your car. I'm guessing they are both set up strangely due to land here being so expensive and that's how they get the most traffic. Unrelated I was in Berlin last year and thought it was weird seeing a HUGE Five Guys there. It was the biggest location that I had ever seen in my life. I ate there because I saw that they don't charge extra on soda.
