It catches a few ounces every few months. Super black watery in consistency. Definitely stuff you don’t want to burn off and dirty up your engine. I do more highway cruising than average so I imagine it will catch more if your heavier footed. I also recently added steel wool to the canister to see if it can help. So far it does not make much of a difference so I will probably just remove it. As much as I would love to make an update video, these videos just aren’t worth the time they take anymore. @@magg992008I should also mention it catches carbon flakes/chunks. This also comes with a brass “stone” filter which can help catch even more, but I chose to remove it for pressure reasons. Either way a definite must for direct injection engines to save from the faster buildup of engine deposits.

I thought I would like the new ones, but I think the solid larger black front of the older ones leaves it slightly more aggressive looking. Grant it I have yet to see one in person. I think the emblem refresh is a win. Ill be upgrading my rear one to it. Either way it is still a blast to drive this car everyday. I have since tuned out the factory "octane learning" and I highly recommend in order to have power all the time. Really sucks when you are limited by after refueling. That and hoping/waiting for it to unlick again is no fun. Also performance blue is awesome and a really stand out color. Enjoy yours!

@@corybureau4124 the car has been phenomenal. I upgraded the engine mount bushings to reduce wheel hop with hardly any noticeable increase in vibration or noise. Another highly recommended upgrade. The wheel hop feels so bad. The insurance surprisingly went up from my previous car(cts-v), but was educated in that new cars outweigh horsepower when your over 30 in age. More tech and newer = more expensive parts. To me insurance is what it is…start inquiring to your company about pricing so you know.

I’ve thought about it numerous times. It would help to capture more oil I imagine. Not sure it’s worth the risk of some stew wool possibly getting to the engine with my luck lol. Maybe get a good brand one.

Congrats! What color? Doing any mods? I would invest in some paint protection film and maybe even the windshield film. I’ve been through 3 windshields in 1.5 years and never on my ctsv and I had it for 6.

@@CKDESIGNS - I got a white, 6-speed manual. i changed out all the lights for LED inside and out and tinted all the windows, even the windshield. i may do the paint protection on the hood. i’m an old guy so i don’t plan on doing too many mods that aren’t just cosmetic, especially with the windows tinted so dark. don’t need the extra heat!

Thank you! It is working! Just checked it the other day. I want to do a follow up but KZbin has demonetized me for 90 days because of some of my 3d printed gun videos. Mainly because I put links on where to buy what I was using. They are being overly strict on that subject and only recently updated that policy.

There's another guy on youtube(Ace_Helix) dressing up his elantra and looks really good...but at some point you could put all that towards the actual N...all depends on your needs. I came from a CTS-V and the N is slower for sure...but overall package/price point is spectacular and it is a lot of fun. You could still tune yours and get a little more out of that turbo. You could try to re-tap the threads with the same size tap and die and maybe clean them out. Chances are you will need to drill out and re-tap/die to the next size up.

I don’t drive much and have been checking it. I see some oil on the baffle, and you will notice a minor noise under the hood from the air turbulating. I’m thinking of how and where to add the steel wool. Stay tuned to see how this thing is holding up!

Yup and just use a 3/8-3/8 barb….but…I want to keep the factory piece as it is for easy swap back to stock. I’m just ocd like that. For others that don’t mind that is a great solution.

Really good. Plenty of bass and comparable to what I had previously in my CTS-V.

@@CKDESIGNS I disagree. My old 2009 Bmw with a 12 speaker system blew the doors off the Elantra N. The bose system for what it's advertised as is subpar.

I don't mind the $50 I saved per ticket to go with Southwest. We were early enough to get a decent boarding group. We were just more relaxed and wanted to enjoy our beers. Well congrats to you too and thanks for the comment! Yeah it definitely makes the fun meter go up when you open the exhaust. I’m actually surprised at how quiet the car is under normal mode. I expected to hear more in the cabin from road noise and exhaust drone. Coming from my ctsv v which was pretty quiet and smooth as it was more of a luxury and high dollar car. The space in this car seems to be larger as well and I did not expect that. Glad they upped the platform size.
