It amuses me as a European that US engineer/work boot don't have steel toes/shanks, just about looking good & getting compliments. They wouldn't let you into where I work wearing those.

@@michaelrynne5254 Red Wing engineer boots have the steel toe. I believe WESCO gives the option for a steel toe on custom builds.

Be careful. There was a big controversy on Fine Creek Leathers a few months back in Japan. I attach this video below and hopefully it and the comments people write give you the idea of the issue. I love the cotton ones. Perfect match with my Iron Ranger and Blacksmith. My feet love #8 last, but don't love #23 or 45. To wear mocs I go half size up with VERY thick wool socks.

@@achillesdanieladam9486 the Tred sole version is super comfortable and extremely hard to beat. I would do the best of both worlds and place the black traction tred sole on these bad boys.

Necro commenting a shout out to my Red Wing Sensei CJ! 🥋 I have been searching on and off for 4585s pretty much since this video dropped. Had a pair shipping from Scorpion in the UK and made the mistake of emailing about the VAT and they pulled my order - rat bastards! Finally!!l After all these years - I managed to land an ‘as new’ pair made 05/19. Absolutely thrilled to have these in my boot rotation. Absolutely everything I had hoped they would be. They are the fraternal twin to my 899 boots - which were my first Red Wings. Clunky to some, but for me, the 8” full lug sole boots are the cat’s pajamas!😎 Thanks for the inspiration CJ! Fellow triple stichers: let this be evidence that with sufficient patience your unicorn boots may eventually turn up.

Going over your Boots with 91% alcohol will give you that Matte’ finish and use Bick 4 afterwards gives an amazing rustic worn look and finish, be careful with the amount of alcohol it’ll take all the Dye out if you use to much but it works extremely well if you don’t want that super shiny Leather look. Great looking Boots
