Great video guys, Ric is an interesting and inspirational man. Just a thought, golf doesn’t have to be expensive to try. I purchased my first clubs from a jumble sale, they were old steel clubs with plastic covers to make them look like hickory, Paid 50p, i went to a field and bashed balls for hours on end, didn’t have lessons, just experimented to make different shots, tried to hit over trees, aimed at targets i set up. A neighbour saw me and he was a members of a club, after speaking with my parents he got me a junior membership which was £7 per year (1969) so shed loads for me, as i earned 50p per week as a Saturday boy in a butchers. But hey, football boots were more expensive than my clubs. I did get to Suningdale as i told you previously, only comprehensive school in the Aer Lingus school boys. As with all sports, make the most of what you have, and most of all enjoy!!

No swing thought works after you've got all the pieces in line but trust me there was a ton of thought when he was learning correct fundamentals at a young age.

Pressure in Golf and making it, Lee Trevino, a Mexican in the US says you don’t know pressure until playing for $20 with only £5 in your pocket, especially as a Mexican. And he said that with his impish smile, what a man…

Hi Guys, great initiative. In 1970, 3 pals and myself persuaded our sports master in a London overspill school to enter us into the Aer Lingus school boy national event. Our parents helped us mark out a small driving range in the school field, we practised hard. I knew a local club professional, he lived near me, he was intrigued, so came up and gave us lessons. We. Qualified for the national finals in regional qualifying at The Neville Tunbridge Wells, and low and behold final at Sunningdale. Only comprehensive school entered and we made the final, there were private school masters asking their players how they let us council house kids beat them. I still have the newspaper cuttings, and my extended family still talk about the pride that South London kids took it to Etonians and other private schools. Unfortunately, things haven’t changed much in 50 years, lets hope this initiative is the catalyst

Turns his right clavicle thru towards the target and that is key. Obviously he has learned to play on frozen ground. And, when the surface is slippery you have to press down squarely on the ground with the left foot, thru the shot, to maintain balance. And, that has to be a shoe manufactures dream. It is exactly what the shoes are designed do, to use the ground force.

I'm learning from his swing too, simple, yes, try to make it simple: upswing, then hips move, then hit the ball. that's it.

The ball striking and driving at Augusta was different class. Only Scheffler came close in that respect. Already a superstar, just needs a tiny little improvement around the greens and he's complete. Immense talent! Edit: The swing actually reminds me of Steve Stricker, just amped up. Very little can go wrong.

Both he and Scheffler were otherworldly driving the ball on a tight and difficult course at the Masters.

its tough to tell if the older gen would be able to control the ball with the higher ball speed they would achieve with the current clubs and be consistent at it at the level of players there are around

Thank you for sharing this content. I hate to be critical, but I am six swings in, and there is not one clear shot of him, swinging the club. The narrator is either standing in the way, or the camera does weird cutaways to different parts of his body. Really strange editing. Just put the camera on the golfer and let him swing.

That "i feel like amateurs in general get caught up in that oh im not hitting it well on the range and therefore not gonna play well" That happens a lot with me, go to the range and hit the worst shots, when that hapoens i stop and just get to the course and play my best golf...the big secret is that i really relax and forget about everything else

Amazing how simple he thinks which transcends to his swing !
