That's an interesting way to get to the valve... You can just remove the airbox instead. Open it up, remove the top and filter, undo two 10 mm bolts, disconnect the MAF sensor, loosen the clamp, and pull it out. There's a ton of room to work from there.
@RedWingedBlackbirdСағат бұрын
@robme3660 have you done this before? Because my personal experience has been much more convoluted than 2 bolts to remove the bottom of the airbox

Mightve been better to install sound deadening on the hood of the engine compartment in combination

I'm pretty sure that you're not supposed to run the heater when running the engine to circulate the coolant. Additionally, you want to use a pedal depressor to keep the rpms above 1.5k rpms. Let me know if I'm wrong.

@RedWingedBlackbird26 күн бұрын
Yes that was meant to say remove the tube that you used to drain the fluid Cutters were used for adjusting length of said tubing, as well as cutting off the end of zip ties

@RedWingedBlackbirdАй бұрын
@Xachremos it gets as hot as the rest of the car during the summer. Heat rises so of course the top of the car will likely be the hottest. My own glasses have the coatings but have held up this far.

Hey bros, thanks for video. The first kind of reservoir, are you sure of top up the coolant need to open the nut of 6mm hex? And why? It sems when release this nut you introduce the air into the coolant circut? This opening use to drain coolant then filling it isn't it? Thanks for for your reply...
@RedWingedBlackbirdАй бұрын
The official Toyota maintenance guide states that your first step is to remove the air release valve with the 6mm hexagon socket wrench, then you fill coolant. I don't own a Corolla with the system so I don't understand the physics of why it would be necessary.

@mahdipaknejad4366 yes you can, the option is called "auto lock doors when moving." You either set it to On or Off.

did you not run the engine and squeeze upper and lower hose and let it run for awhile and get air out???
@RedWingedBlackbird2 ай бұрын
After filling the coolant, you can squeeze the hoses with the engine OFF. I don't see an issue if you do or don't do this.

So the coolant reservoir I have is similar to the one you linked in your description. I have watched the video and noticed that he did not use the spill proof funnel which most youtubers I've seen use. Is there any reason for the difference? I'm just a DIYer and I'm curious on whether I should just follow his video step by step or maybe do what you did but of course squeezing the right hoses. Edit: Spelling
@RedWingedBlackbird5 ай бұрын
Spillproof funnels are not a necessity, I reccomend it because as the name suggests, they help prevent spills.Truthfully on previous cars, I had a generic funnel that pressed firmly into the riadtor cap to prevent spills, and that worked fine. If you want to prevent spills, a spillproof funnel is an easy solution, but other funnels exist that can function the same. If you don't care for spills, just use whatever funnel you have and you'll likely be fine.
