The Saint on the left side of your screen is Saint Spyridon In t6he Island of Kerkyra (Corfu) Greece we have his incorrupt body since it was brought from Constantinople by a priest as Constantinople was falling to the Ottoman turks. Saint Spyridon was one of the 318 Bishops in the 1st Ecumenical council of Nicaea in 325 AD In the council he explained the Holy Blessed Trinity by holding a ceramic shingle in his hand he squeezed it and fire went up water dripped down and in his hand remained the clay understanding that the Holy Trinity is One in essence and indivisible He also was the Bishop that slapped Arius. Arius in the council was arguing his basic notion that The Son came into being through the will of the Father although Arius was a bishop of the Church. In Kerkyra Saint Spyridon has done myriads of miracles and for the inhabitants to thank the Saint there are 5 times a year processions of the incorrupt body. On November 12, 1718 The Roman Catholic bishop and the RC governor of the Island decided to concert the Orthodox Church of Saint Spyridon into a Roman Catholic church by removing the Iconostasi from the Church and bring the Altar table out like the RC. However they did not succeed near by was the Venetian arm depot and as the people had gathered out side of the Church including various RC from Italy so they can witness the change an explosion occurred and the RC bishop the Venetian governor and a lot of the dignitaries that had come from Italy were killed. The Church was never converted to RC because of what happened that day, also during the processions of the Saint the RC bishop does not parade with the orthodox but he is in the rear with the lay people following the procession. During the 4th crusade when they went and ransacked Constantinople for 3 days in 1204 they also had stolen the right hand of the Saint and it was take to rome. In 1984 the Bishop of the Island had asked Pope John Paul to return the hand of the Saint so it can be with the rest of His body and the Pope returned the Right hand of the Saint.

Great sermon, Fr. Jeremy. In my theology class we recently were talking about the four marks of the Church. I really thought it was interesting the way you seemed to understand them is also the way we do at the Lutheran Church. I also thought the title of your sermon spoke volumes to me. We have been trying to reach out to other denominations, finding common ground and welcoming all into our church community. While we may not share communion, our churches certainly have a lot in common. Most importantly, Jesus Christ.

Aceasta prințesa a supraviwtuit revoluției romane ! A venit in România in 91 a fost la Mănăstirea Argeș la mormintele părinților ei ! S-a sfârșit din viața in 92 cred avea cred 90 de ani ! Dumnezeu sa o ierte .
