I disagree with what you said about cross guilds lack of strong fighters. Buggy recruited a ton of people from impel down, it's very easy for oda to just invent new strong fighters for them.

I haven't watched Egghead and Elbaf yet but I hope they're better written and actually give us what we wanted to see in Wano. But Oda can't change the scar on this arc, sadly.

I still believe that Luffy & Zoro are gonna fight one more time before the story ends, and that’d give them a reason to do so-because of their clashing personalities.

I feel like Oda could’ve at least done something cool with them, like maybe at Enies Lobby instead of the island being almost completely destroyed, he instead made it so that it fell into the ocean, then making it so that only 1 or 2 of the CP9 members survived, such as Kaku & Lucci. Then they’d have a reason to join CP0, to avenge their friends and/or to still try to defeat Luffy & steal Robin. It may be a kinda basic idea, but it would feel at least a little more fulfilling, as right now they really just seem like some unimportant side characters. I really hope Oda has some sort of plan for them, even if it’s something as simple as “oh we were bad guys but not Luffy helped us change our ways,” OR dying a graceful death. Something interesting y’know.

As an example, Zoro getting a never-before-mentioned senzu bean to heal him from near-death to fighting shape was absolutely ludicrous. How am I to take any fight seriously? To me, that's emblematic of poor arc planning and/or a rush to end the arc. Through Act 1 and 2, as you outlined, you do see classic OP set-up. But I think what prevented a proper follow-through was the Raid just became to big and bloated with too many characters and events being juggled in a mostly-weekly series of 18 pages. This video started off ok but then just lost the script. Luffys armamanent haki is enough to block most if not any sword attacks, the same attack he used to point it out luffy blocked in base at point blank. We also ignoring that luffy was stuck in place about to get bajrang gun ready and couldnt really see it coming because observation isnt some passive ability. Cesar is not close to as good as a scientist that vegapunk was which is why he made these mass produced less quality fruits while vegapunk was able to recreate kaido fruit and give the seraphim fruit powers. Wano is where logic goes to die. I don't think I've ever read a story with more plot armour than Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos have money. Hell, there was more plot armour than the top 100 richest economy in the world combine. To name just a few, everyone on Kaido's side is easily dispatched, where on Luffy's side, only Izo and Ashura Doji died. Big Mom was nerfed into the ground, with zero usage of her observation, conqueror's, her iron defense, her speed, her tough wills, hell, her devil fruit. She was only there to be plot armour brought down. Luffy easily crushing both Big Mom and Kaido, a threat said to end the world if they joined forces. If they were so easy to kill, how is it the World government couldn't do that??? Tama. Just Tama and her devil fruit. The treatment of the Kurozumi which led to the pain and suffering of Wano. Suddenly, Wano, which persecuted and tortured the Kurozumi for the crime of one guy is "oppressed" and "good", yet the guy getting revenge, much like Hiyori, is now suddenly evil, but when Luffy's friends do it, it's cool. What about all the asspull powerups? Law and Kid and Luffy were soloed in one hit by guys like Doflamingo, and guys who couldn't scratch that weakling suddenly asspull powered up to overthrow in strength 2 emperors??? Really? What about all the times Luffy got crushed. Why is he allowed the plot armour to re-try again, and again, and again like this is a video game? more specifically, a Souls-Borne game? I feel like Oda has a lot to add and expand on sometimes and that would make what was already the longest arc in OP even longer. That being said, what Oda chooses to spend precious time on and exclude from the manga will always boggle my mind. There was so much space in 150 chapters to add these small details and moments that would have tied everything together so nicely. A lot of my complaints for Wano could have been solved by a few pages, hell, even 1-3 panels alone in some cases, adding that extra connecting info/ resolution. But no, its more important to get chapters upon chapters of side characters fighting side characters, fake tension with Onigashima flying away and blowing up, and other redundant things that shouldve been left out in favour of more meaningful inclusions. Oda introduces like 25 ideas, abandons the most interesting/ impactful ones, and poorly ties up the redundant ones. I would have preferred if he just executed like 5 plot points very well and used that space to flesh out a much smaller range of ideas very thoroughly. Then not only would the arc most likely be shorter, but it would have a much more robust, cohesive story to tell. Its really unfortunate too because I actually really enjoyed Wano and thought it had some amazing moments, but the arc kinda falls apart once we get to Onigashima and then it just kinda ends without any resolution.

This theory sounds more like Zoro Piece than the One Piece we've had for 25 years. The whole weakness to slashing bit doesnt mean much when Luffy is the Sun God and can use Gear 5 at will.

I think having the fodder have them is fine because it could be used to help justify one of my pet peeves in the story aka explaining why tf conquerors dont just know out the entire fodder armies at the start of the fight lol. Have Kaido have the biggest effective army because hes found the easiest way to produce soldiers that reach the threshold of strength to not instant pass out. That just needs to be actually exposited in like 1 panel. The tobbi roppo also having it is also a good solution though I think both can work. Just have the tobbi roppo be the rare succesful ones that got a properly working fruit which is why theyre so much stronger

Great theoryz but i don't think you needed to try that hard to sell why luffy would let zoro fight mihawk. As you said, he isn't really more vulnerable to cutting attacks than anyone else. And when you add haki, then now he has a defense against them. So I don't think luffy would let zoro fight mihawk because he's the only one who can, he would because that's Zoro's goal. And luffy respects and cares about zoro too much to ever get in the way of that.

I somewhere read that additionally only Kaku and Lucci should be in cp0 but editors wanted to add the other cp9 members , I guess it was the time when film red was releasing. Maybe it was purely for fanservice with Khalifa and others mini statues and etc.

Cp0 was a storytelling device to bring back lucci, purely for fan service. He has no place in the story anymore. Hes weaker than all the relevant players on the field right now, and hes not tied into anything interesting plotwise. Vivi is an example of an old character return done right. Lucci is the opposite

I think we could get a moment where they encounter Mihawk and Luffy looks over at Zoro and asks if he is ready for this fight. Because Luffy knows that Mihawk told Zoro to fight him when he was ready so Mihawk won't hold back this time. Zoro will say that he is ready and Luffy will let the fight happen without intervening.

Before this happens Mihawk has to do something to show his strength. Right now a lot of the community call him a fraud or say Shanks is stronger so if the final duel is going to be impactful then Oda needs to shows how strong Mihawk really is.

Liked the video. My thoughts below are long. I agree Oda should have some cover series for more of the CP9 to CP0 transition but CP9 being disbanded makes sense, a group that “shouldn’t exist” is now widely known by civilians in Water 7 after the failure of a buster call that wasn’t meant to be called. Both full names and faces of these secret agents is public knowledge post Ennies Lobby. They didn’t even use fake names, they were amateurs lead by an idiot and it shows. CP0 functions more like the DEA/FBI in being a known entity specializing in operations for the World Nobles directly as opposed to MI6 from Bond that CP9 appears to be modeled after(secret last intel agency with the best of the best). I think the bigger failures are CP1-8 appear to have no job besides existing in the story as opposed to being regional cells similar to CP9. In fact they should probably have 1 of each of them working in each of the 4 seas especially with the surge of strong pirates in both Ace and Luffy’s generations. The other 4 should be dedicated to intel around the Emporers and attempting to infultrate crews like Stussy was doing on WCI. Just seems like an organization that has 10 intel cells seems to always be lacking in actionable intel. Or at least don’t have the spies go by their government name, at least Doffy and Crocodile had callsigns damn.

CP-9s actions may be secret but if discovered will be held accountable by the world at large. CP-0 had literally no accountability because they’re a direct extension of the World Nobles. They make all the sense in the world. They’re the WG’s zero tolerance policy.
