Amazing! I still have the book and we've read it many times at bedtimes. Now I can play the audiobook for the boys as well! A classic from my childhood. Thank you so much for posting this!

Aha amazing! Haven't heard this in like 35 years! I just realized now (somehow I didn't pick up on this as a child) but they aren't using the actual actors dialogue clips and the dialogue is actually different slightly. Wonder why that was eh? Isn't this an official SW release?

Only now do I realize that it's not the original actors voices. I didn't know that when I was 8 years old.

The sped version of Star Wars lol I used to have this when i was a boy. So much better to have the films today on Blu Ray. Darth Vader sounds like he took a blast of helium.

This is the best quality recording I have found of this cassette! Can I please get in touch with you somehow to get a file that hasn't been ruined by KZbin compression?! I can resort to ripping from youtube but the quality won't be as good as whatever your source was!

MAN! I got the for my birthday around 1980/81. Cassette pack with SW & ESB. I had only seen the 2nd film- this was my first experience of the original Star Wars. I remember this word for word and the character voices. I didn't realise they were voiced by different people until I saw ANH when it was re-released a year or two later. I don't know HOW many times I listened to these!

Thank you, I have the original book from my childhood but not the tape. Even if I did, nothing to play it on! But I put this on and read along. As an adult I realised how complicated the language is and as a child I wouldn't have understood much 😂 Loved the turn the page sound effect as a kid

TPTB will never allow movies of this calibre to ever be made again. The film is spiritual. Good triumphing over pure evil. No Star Wars films ahould have been made after this. The movies were just way too popular to sit on the shelf so they gave you Star Wars Lite in 1999.
