That's exactly how I used to care for my hair in the 90s. I did micros w my real hair and kept them in 2mo, washing them every week. Then I'd go to the beauty shop for a roundbrush blowout or rollerset and trim, wear it for a week or two, then a wash & go for 2 weeks, then back to natural mircos. My hair was on my elbows in its shrunken state.

Currently rocking a mini braid and the difference that I have is that it's shorter and thicker than your hair is. The great thing is that I do not have to worry about combing it till the day I will be taking them out. Loving the Video as I continue my hair journey.

Yes!! I keep telling people plats and mini twist are great for length retention, and easy to moisturize. I buzzed my hair 1 year ago after having a platinum fade for awhile. My hair has grown soooooo much once it got to a length where I could twist it.

Omg my hair is thinning just like that. My edges never been thick but as the yrs go by it’s just thinning and balding really bad. Also it’s very tender in the area. Is yours tender?

I have locs but i’m about to start doing this with my 2 year old daughter’s hair. I’ve been considering it for a while but haven’t yet because I wana try all the cute styles on her lol. Her hair is so long and thick but she hates getting it washed and styled. This would make wash day and my entire life so much easier🤣

You have to know your hair. My hair would loc if wet and dried in braids after 4-5 weeks. I have friends whose hair wouldn't loc in braids after 4-5 months of washing and not unbraiding.

I have fine 2c hair and I agree that braids really are the best protective style, i now put my hair in two braids after wash days and it has significantly reduced the split ends and damage I had, it's also so much easier to detangle

❤❤today is August 4th, 2024❤❤my hair is growing back from having breast cancer twice ❤❤ and I started wearing mini braids since it's been growing and it has really helped my growth ❤❤my hair has grown down to my ear lobes ❤❤I shampoo every 2 weeks and I rebraid every 3 months ❤❤and I oil my hair and scalp every other day with wild growth oil and massage my scalp❤❤
