The future is me blocking your channel for spamming and spreading lies about password security in an attempt to tie logins to a Big Tech company that doesn't deserve any control over it and is also completely untrustworthy with our data. No thanks. I'll stick to passwords. That way I can still access my data when this new "technology" eventually fails when everything is hacked in one fell swoop.

What isn't being talked about is the industry standard Zero Knowledge Architecture and AES 256-bit encryption that all password managers use. This architecture is designed so that even if a password manager's vault is breached, the hacker has no access to the Master Password needed to decrypt the vault. The system worked as designed. I have a 26 character Master Password and I have complete confidence that my encrypted passwords are secure. I've used LastPass for the past 10 years and I will continue to do so.

I disagree with you. What happened with Lastpass can't just happen to any company. The level of incompetence from them to get to this point is actually hard to believe and if it didn't negatively impact so many people it would actually be hilarious.

Wrong. They lied with their initial statement. All customer vaults were stolen.

They did lie and didn’t rotate cloud storage keys. Most vaults will never be accessed. People who had weak or reused passwords are the easy ones or people who get phished.

😂 sounds like the responses we get. We had a customer want to access M365 from one and they thing hadn’t been updated in 4 years. AppStore apps wouldn’t even install!

Once you hack a school without it being a signed contract for ethical hacking you’re committing a crime. The double extortion in these crimes is stealing the data first then initiating the ransomware. You charge for the ransomware and if they refuse to pay you say you will leak the data and charge them for that. Most times even if you pay the ransom part they still extort you again for the data they exfiltrated.

Hopefully. They have forensics experts, probably from insurance, but they are there to find the source. The recovery can be brutal if you don’t have backups. One common technique theses attackers use is to destroy the backups.

Unfortunately, once the money is gone from wallet there's not much you can do. If you're using a crypto exchange open a ticket with them.

Don't hire a hacker to hack someone back. There will be some legal loopholes and most of the time once the crypto is gone it's not coming back.

It depends on more on the key space being used. Length will always beat complexity in a low number of characters. We recommend using a passphrase anyway for major things that exceeds 15 or 16 characters. If you want the best protection, use a password manager and randomly generate 16+ characters. Outside of cracking the lower characters are easier with things like rainbow tables or just word lists.

I use a combination of both. At least 8 letters with 2 capital letters, special characters and at lease 2 numbers.

Make the leap to a passphrase and get over 12 and you're a lot better off. Also, a password manager with random passwords for all your sites is key!

Yes, it will work, but because of Webkit it's not as private. All browsers on iPhones or iPads are required to use Webkit so that's the issue.
