I've been following these events for the past years, though I am in no way a speed puzzler. It takes me weeks to complete one because I can only focus on one for like an hour or so. But I do love seeing other people doing it, sorry to hear you had a hard time with that one puzzle and that you might had stood a better chance if you had had the other ones where you had already practiced on. I hope you had a lot of fun despite the result ! A friend of mine went for the very first time, she has been puzzling all her life but only speed puzzling for a few months, and she made it to the final, I'm so proud of her ! I personally think it's weird that they only use an unpublished puzzle for the final, they should use that for all rounds honestly, that just feels fair and no one can complain.

Oh, you got unlucky with the puzzle you got. Me too. I was in category A, and I got a very popular puzzle, but it was one of the puzzles I hadn’t practiced before, so there was no chance for me to qualify for the next semifinal. I’m a new speed puzzler and could have qualified if I had gotten a puzzle that I had practiced before. But I enjoyed the competition. 👍🏻

Anyone going to Worlds for the first time should think of it as an amazing experience but with no expectations of getting a high ranking. I would imagine that it is a very different experience to a local competition. Just completing a puzzle within the time would be good and give some satisfaction. Considering the number of participants you did very well. 👍 There were quite a number of surprises in the puzzle choices and no circular, fur or panoramic puzzles. I don't enter competitions so I can't talk from experience. Watching it gets quite compelling! The only competitions I enter are the BOTYP ones.

I was in the same group as you. When I saw the puzzle, I knew that I lost the round already. Never practiced this kind of puzzle and out of all the groups it was the worst puzzle to get, because the least amount of people finished it. But well done! You managed to get in top 100.😉

I have to admit that I wouldn't touch any of those puzzles with a barge pole! Not the kind of images that I gravitate towards. Well done on getting through them, even if the times were not what you had wished for. Cross fingers that you don't get any of those puzzles at Worlds at all. 🤞 Enjoy yourself at Worlds, have a blast and a happy time meeting so many fellow puzzlers, apparently there are 1163 participants. I shall of course be glued to my computer watching it all.

So many beautiful puzzles! Have fun at worlds!

Those Little Sun puzzles are harder than you think for. Some of the colours are quite spread out and therefore becomes a bit more difficult to work out what goes where. The Circle of Color puzzles are interesting in that for some of them the distribution of the colours is uneven. The seashells one has nearly half a reddish/pink colour and the other colours barely get a look-in. With the mushrooms one not much in the way of green, yellow or orange. Have a great time at Worlds however you do there. I shall be glued to my computer watching it all.

Nature puzzles can be beastly to do, especially when there are dark areas in them. I had a go at the Lupins puzzle that popped up at Worlds last year. Took me just over five hours to do. I don't normally do nature puzzles but I did do that one. Not surprised that you weren't able to complete them in 90 minutes. What, I wonder, will appear at this year's Worlds which is starting in just over two weeks.

Lovely to see you again. Well it seems I can finally get the Paris Postcard at £16.99 which is a tad expensive for a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle. Well I know I wouldn't want to do either of those nature puzzles you showed. Great that you beat your personal best time. Let's hope that you get even faster over time.

Good selection there. Funnily enough I've done all of those myself. I managed to collect all 18 of the Circle of Colors puzzles. I'm sure you will enjoy doing them all. Don't forget that panorama jigsaws appeared at Worlds last year. You may wish to consider practising one of two of those, unless you have already. Are there any images you would prefer not to see at Worlds? I know a lot of people have said that fur is tricky to do and nature puzzles can be hard. I shall be glued to my computer watching Worlds which is only about six weeks away now.

Good grief, I wouldn't touch any of those puzzles you have done with a barge pole! They are the type of image that I loathe. The last one you did was pretty much two thirds blue sky! Ravensburger have to cater for all tastes and that includes, what to me, are ghastly puzzles. I have done what would be regarded as vintage Tower Press puzzles but those images are much more to my taste than the Ravensburger that you did for this video. Well done for powering your way through them. 👍

Well done for getting it done even if it wasn't quite within 90 minutes. 👍 As you have done it before it may have given you a bit of an advantage. I think I had done about half or a bit under when I got to 90 minutes. The dark areas are the difficult bits. When the results come out it will be interesting to see how many puzzlers got it finished in the 90 minute time limit. Hopefully the next BOTYP won't be quite so tough!

That was a good time for Maritime Fair. I did that puzzle in a competition but for teams and it’s not easy. You did well. I have Balloon Party in my to do pile so I can practice speed puzzling but it looks very hard. I will need to tackle it soon. Glad you enjoyed the competition.

You certainly gave yourself a varied selection of images to do. Not surprised the Polygon Lion took a long time. I think that would be better as a pairs puzzle as would the Manatee Moments. Still, all useful practise for your competition this weekend. I hope that you will do well and be happy with what you achieve.

Just seen this video having watched one of your others. I think the consensus of opinion would be the more you do the same puzzle the faster you get. I found that with the Poke Bowl one, shaved 10 mins off from the first time I did it. I shall be watching your other videos over time.

Good collection there and very varied. You never know what you are going to get in a competition, so you have to be prepared for anything. I wonder if you will ever tackle the Lupins puzzle that was in last year's Worlds? That was a tough one which took me five hours to complete. I don't regard myself as a speed puzzler, just someone who puzzles at a steady pace. Have you considered trying some of the Circle of Colors puzzles as those appeared at Worlds last year?
