I’ve always hoped they’d release this on the original OST or as a bonus album with some other unreleased tracks but 10 years later and it’s still not there. Such an epic song but also a little mournful. Beatrice Martin did a wonderful job with creating the atmosphere of Lemuria with her music.

The song was written by Ruben Blades in collaboration with Willie Colón. Rubén is from Panama and Willie is a Nuyorican. From the album “Siembra” released in September of 1978. It’s Fania’s and the genre of salsas all time greatest selling album. One of my personal favorite songs of the album, a masterpiece from the Poet of Salsa. Mr. Ruben Blades. I was shocked to see it in a Disney film years later.

The melody is like dancing between 2 people talking, without the person speaking I think it's just an ordinary melody. But personal opinion is still personal opinion.

eh, some people prefer no vocals when listening to it on the repeat. for me it just felt a bit... weird listening to it for a good hour with vocals dropping in after every loop

Certainly not, there were 3 deaths! Sykes died when his car was hit by the subway. Roscoe and Desoto are also killed when they fall out of Sykes' car and are electrocuted by the third rail.
