So this is really an Ad-vert not a "things to consider' .... just saying. Not that I am against this interesting tour of what you have to offer ... but not the most accurate title is all.

Looks to be a pre-manufactured parts assembly process, clearly not a fabricate and build process.

That was an American made frame hand welded in the factory in West Palm Beach. They are just showing the final assembly stage. Every bike was hand built to customer specs

I would have to disagree with the statement of, The Ultimate Full Suspension Fat Bike / Growler Double Stout. I would have to say that I believe that the Foes Mutz is one of the Best American Made Full Suspension Fat Bikes!

Foes makes amazing bikes but to be ultimately it has to compete on a performance level. The Double stout is 30lbs with wireless shifting and carbon everything. That’s hard to beat!

I had to mount some Maxxis Minion tires on my fat tire HED rims. Virtually impossible to fill them with an air compressor since these tire come folded up. What I had to do what first use an inner tube to seat one side. I removed the inner tube, and only then was able to use the air compressor to successfully seat the other side. A pain in the arse ;)

It went together easily in less than an hour. kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.

No they didn’t. This frame was made in Taiwan. The double stout stopped production last year. We remade a more aggressive version of this bike under our 46 Peaks brand with 140mm of travel build on a mullet 27.5x4.5 and 26x4.6 layout. It’s amazing.

I'm new to fat bikes, and mine is an ebike. I have 26x4 fat tires, and while I really enjoy the ride, I am wondering if I have the correct tires for my riding conditions. I ride mostly on groomed trails (rail-to-trail conversions). I do ride maybe 20% on roads to get to and from and transition between those groomed trails. I don't (or haven't yet) ride on snow or sand. I'm wondering if a 27.5x3 might be better for my needs in terms of rolling resistance and battery longevity on the ebike.
@brewhousebikesgrowlerbikes4505
@brewhousebikesgrowlerbikes4505 Жыл бұрын
When you say groomed I’m assuming you mean a gravel mix. In all reality anything smaller would make you more efficient but you lose some of the smoothness. For gravel, rails to trails type riding I is a gravel specific bike like the Growler Session IPA. It runs a 700x50 tire with a faster rolling tread. In all reality the only reason you should want to make this modification is if you are running out of battery on your rides. Then the real discussion should be finding the proper e-bike for your needs. Hope this helps
@JethroXP
@JethroXP Жыл бұрын
@@brewhousebikesgrowlerbikes4505 Correct, gravel mix that accommodates walking, biking, and horses. I've actually been able to extend my battery by riding on the lowest assist level, so while my dual battery bike is rated for 90-miles, I've been able to get closer to 150 out of it. But since this is my first ebike, and my first fat tire bike, I only have the single data point and was curious if I've actually got the right setup for my conditions. Mine is a front-suspension hardtail rear hub drive, though after putting about 1000 miles on it I'm starting to look at a full suspension mid-drive as my next bike and the tire question was really with the next bike in mind. Thank you for the quick reply and the excellent video!

Pros and cons of a fatter tires? You probably mention it but I was thinking about coming down on size, from 27.5 x 3.0 to a 27.5 x 2.8. Thanks in advance 🤙🏽
@brewhousebikesgrowlerbikes4505
@brewhousebikesgrowlerbikes4505 Жыл бұрын
That is a great size to run during the dirt season. With 3.0 you are going to have a larger contact point and might be slightly more comfortable for the long days in the saddle. With 2.8 you'll find you still get that plus size traction, but it will be lighter and roll a bit faster. Hope this helps!

Hi , good point in the hardshell jackets in cold weather. my winter rides are often very windy. I have found my favorite jacket is Loki softshell It has a built-in neck gaiter, which sits away from your face and doesn’t freeze up on you it also has a hood that will fit over my helmet and mittens if you need them.

Dumb question but I’m assuming if I presently have 26”x4.8” tires and I want to go to 27.5”x4.5” then I need different rims? A 27.5” tire won’t fit on the same rim as my 26” tires?
@brewhousebikesgrowlerbikes4505
@brewhousebikesgrowlerbikes4505 2 жыл бұрын
That is correct. You might also need a different frame. 27.5x4.5 is a noticeable larger tire. Most bikes that max out at 26x4.8 won’t fit 27.5x4.5.

I got a question ..... I'm just now starting to see fat bikes for the first time in my life..I just retired from Trucking and I'm 69 years old..I ride a single speed bike everyday 15 miles for exercise....I have a 77 thousand acre lake close to where I live and I want to get a fat bike to ride the trails around that lake...but I got to ride on the streets of my hometown to so will a fat bike give me some decent speed around town...I'm not sure about the speed of the fat bike cause all I'm seeing is a single gear on the sprocket..it's not geared like a mountain bike...can u explain to me about the gears an how fast it might go..can I do a 20 mile trip with decent speed
