Great content! We'd love to see the timestamps for the games you mention. Sometimes, you only mention a game's name once, and we definitely miss it!

First! Huge fan of the show. Wishing you the best of luck getting subscribers on KZbin. I did my part. Also, because it’s my wife’s favorite game - Botanik is pronounced like “botanist”

I only listen to your podcasts on my podcast app. After listening to the latest episode, I immediately went on youtube to leave a subscription. You are such an awesome podcast - love your spirit, humor and all the stuff you are talking about! My favorite podcast - oh and it did absolutely not need an incentive in form of a game to make me subscribe. Hello from Germany! Mixo

For gamers, would you recommend throwing in the extra salt expansion on our first game?

The real essential Rosenberg games are: Feast for Odin, Patchwork, Agricola.

thanks for the shout out...! it was greaet playing games with you over the weekend. to me, teaching a new game is much easier than organizing a group. I run a group in Eastern PA with roughly 100 active players. coordinating multiple game days each week, fighting Facebook spam daily, keeping members egos in check, etc.... can just get tiring over time, but the payoff is great. Teaching games though, that energizes me in ways i never felt before I got into the BG hobby...! we have a local small con here in the Leigh Valley twice a year (MEPACon), and I basically volunteer to teach/run games the entire 3 day weekend. It's so fullfiling, and frankly I would rather teach a game successfully than win a game...

I prefer LoW over CoM, but the Scoundrels of Skullport expansion is mandatory and I havent played the Valhalla expandion for CoM. I find the player interaction to be much higher in LoW with Intrigue cards and building ownership; the variety to be greater with the hidden Lords cards and sheer quantity of quests and buildings that are different game to game; and while the rules are lighter, the strategy is deeper and less luck-dependant. Great convo!

Uwe Rosenberg : Boring, lackluster, outdated Euro Games with completely uninteresting themes. With early 90s graphics.

I own hundreds of board games. Agricola is in my top 5 all time. You could give it a decent rating just based on its impact to gaming. The revised edition is better.

Enjoyed the video! Surprised y’all didn’t mention that a number of his worker placement games are well regarded at 2p in addition to Fields of Arle, including Hallertau, Agricola, and Le Havre. For what it’s worth, I think Underwater Cities might be my favorite heavier worker placement game for 2p though I haven’t played most of the heavier Uwe games at 2 yet. I also really like Agricola: ACB&S for what it is - quick and light 2p game that is a good filler or way to introduce worker placement to newer players/non-gamers. I play it often with my wife whereas I would not play most of his big-box games with her. It feels more like Caverna than does Cave vs. Cave to me, since Cave vs. Cave is like worker placement meets engine building.

5:50 Exactly ! And that is the weakness of the new version. Who's better at the puzzles wins. In the old one, the gem scoring system balances that. I actually won 2 or 3 times having not completed any of the puzzles first but by being more strategic in moving my pawn in the right lane and picking the right gems on the gem board. Trust me, the older version is far better !

I loved this tier list. I’m relatively new to board gaming but I have to say I just played Feast for Odin and it was my first game I played above the 3 in complexity on BGG, so my first heavy game. I absolutely loved it and it opened my eyes to heavy gaming. Before the most complex thing I played was wingspan and villainous. Now, I’m not a fan of the fiddly nature of feast but I do love it. If there’s another game as great as feast without a million pieces I may love it even more

I was a little surprised that this didn't have many likes. I love it! My sister and I sing this song often, and come back to play it again fairly regularly. It gets us especially excited when we are gearing up for Gen Con. We discovered this song days after we found out last minute that we were going to our first Gen Con, so this song always puts us back there. Thanks for the fun parody!

The four years ago video is really good. 1) pushing North and reveal 2 cities in a solo con with wolfhawk is a very popular strategy now. 2) Wolfhawk, yeah, the best high mark champion. When I see the color white and blue on the champion's figure card, and a bunch of debuff skills and card, I guess she is the best. Blue and white color combo is the most surprising high performance deck in TCG (like magic the gathering) . Automatically win the battle by making enemies far worse than you is a surprisingly good tactic. 3) The core city reveal timing, Day Tactic choose strategy, and level up in first turn in this clip is a classic guide for mage knight guided many guys, and tip explanation orally is what a player really want. It is better than see how people work according to tips without mentioning why. Good job! The game published many years ago, however, its depth is making it popular and high ranking in BGG players. Nice and educational video!

Reykholt does it’s job so well. Family weight version of his bigger box farming games. Great game. Obviously Agricola and Feast for Odin are absolutely amazing and his top two, and you should both feel bad for hating one of the two 😂 Caverna is also amazing but not essential since Agricola and aFfO exist and can scratch that itch on either end of the scale (not that they completely replace it though, sometimes I just want that pared down fusion) I don’t like Le Havre much and am always stunned about how much people like it. But I guess I’m in the vast minority. Le Havre Inland Port though was absolute trash imo and should definitely be burnt. I love small box two player Agricola Indian Summer is the best of the trilogy imo and makes the other two obsolete for me - though I could easily live without any of them so mostly agree with you there I’m curious to try Hengist one day just to see how bad it is lol

Hey guys. Want to start off saying I have been listening to your podcast the last few years when I commute back and forth to work on Spotify. Definitely one of my favorites. Just wanted to point out I was confused when you guys were talking about the news. While I was listening if I understand it right you were discussing retheme of Land, Air and Sea but also talking about Heroes of Land, Air and Sea as if they were the same game. I'm sure you probably caught this but still wanted to point it out because it could be very confusing to the listener if they are not familiar with these games.

At 31:40 min/sec. I got you point but just wanted to say I always thought Bunker was more the Ironman type than Absolute Zero but I guess either could be considered a spinoff. Though AZ uses tech, I always thought of him as an Iceman hero.

A lot of Kickstarters include expansions, but there are still plenty that are just for expansions. Half of the board game Kickstarters that I back are for expansions. Of course I also don't back those giant plastic-filled projects that cost $300...

You lost a lot of credibility when you started talking about Nusfjord, it’s a solid game and a great design. It felt like mindless bashing...Your critic of A feast for Odin is also weird. I did not like the general vibe of this video.

Nice list. I like the graph a lot. I’d swap Nova Luna and Patchwork personally. It has a similar yet better puzzle with a smaller table footprint and plays 2-4 Nusfjord and Feast would be essential for me as well.<3

I skipped the first one because I thought I didn't really care for a light game and I bought the core box from Walmart. And then I checked the KS and saw all the content and playing through the corebox got boring in 2 weekend. I decided to back the X-Men and all in from previous because of fomo :(
@rexation89523 жыл бұрын
Soooo...if I'm more of an X-men fan then general Marvel, and I'm going to buy Marvel United (MU) off a store shelf... Given I like base MU when I play it & that I'm looking forward to the X-men MU playable villains, anti-heroes, and recently revealed characters (Jubillee, Rogue, Gambit, Psylocke, Banshee, Mister Sinister in Team Blue expansion/ Archangel, Colossus, Iceman, Bishop, Forge, Sebastian Shaw in Team Blue expansion/ Cannonball, Domino, Shatterstar, Cable, and Stryfe for the X-Force expansion)... ...given all that...would you play with back this all-in? Gambit & Rogue got me to back it, at least on the Base X-men + Team Blue + Team Gold
Did I miss something? I didn't hear any mention of Aeon's End - even though it was voted #5 in the big poll on BGG
