What about the rest of the raw edges? I think I would do this differently, maybe making it reversible and fixing up the raw edges first before sewing the whole thing together. Add a strap and sew it all together by putting the end of the straps between the two layers.

After you pin the material you should do long stitches and then run it in the machine without pins ( you will avoid dangerous accidents ). Also it looks unfinished and unpractical. Not enough space to put things in and out

Should have added lining and not used a knot at the top. But pretty simple to follow and good basis for a more refined bag.
