The Mi amigo was sold to Gerard van dam in May 1972 so they were just about to start work on her after 4 years in Holland after being impounded, I notice the Frederica (Caroline Norths old ship) which was alongside the mi amigo had gone for scrap.... :-(

such a trip..... to all of you thanks for your kind words adn sharing your memories.... i never knew this side of my Father, he is a very quite and humble man (he would blush to be reading this) but it really makes me happy to see that he meant somthing to people that he never knew. let you all know i will carry on yours and his and let my kids know of this time. Memories, these kind at least are, the greatest thing in life...

Good to see some footage of Canadian DJ Mike Lennox aboard Big L, together with Ed Stewart. Mike was a great broadcaster and nice guy.

I've made that trip too a couple of times. Visiting The Norderney, The beautifull Mebo 2 and the most impressive of them all "The old lady" Caroline's MV Mi Amigo, But i've never been to the Rem Island. Pity. I remember visiting the ships too on the day "The music Died", August 31st 1974. Together with my friend Menno we were out at sea the moment Veronica stopped it's transmissions. A real clame to fame moment I guess..
