It looks like his hands aren't centered on the handles and are more towards the front/top of the handles in the rack...is this on purpose? Great video!

The instruction to land flat on the feet isn't quite right. You land first on the balls of the feet and then the heels rock back onto the ground. Try actually landing flat on your feet and you'll find you land too heavy and can hurt your joints.

Failing to fix the feet firmly with the foot straps is very common with beginners. Results in pain in the anterior shin

So going forward without pulling my toes or feet is no problem. But the moment I stretch my legs I get a shock like something move forward and then suddenly the rope ends and SNOCK you get a little shock and move backwards a bit. That happens to my legs as well. Even when I go real slow, its weird. Also when I row without my feet in the straps its impossible to go backwards, my feet just scoot up the moment I want to lean back.

OK, so they ARE called Reverse Sit Ups. I'm 80 and was experimenting with various stretching exercises. Very tight posterior chain. I can do regular situps fine. Not a lot of them but some. Then I started bringing my knees to my chest as I lay flat on the floor. It is harder and as my knees approach my chest it kindof hurts my lower back. So this is probably where all my back pain is coming from. I guess I've got to work (carefully) to stretch and strengthen my lower back muscles with these Reverse Sit Up exercises. It's amazing how many exercises attach to the lower back/pelvis area. It's no wonder so many people have so much back trouble.

The feet out is great advice. Often I do full row sessions without feet strapped in. If you use good technique all energy will go into the machine and your feet won’t even move from their position at all

Does the number of calories on the machine correlate in any way with the damper setting? Does one use the same number of calories on any of the numerical damper settings?

Separating out the specific parts and tools for each of the seven step assembly process steps was brilliant on the part of the manufacturer. For the price, I am impressed at how sturdy this kzbin.infoUgkxvObaTzoHoHQLL4lHbJQmExHqsrZQm-f7 unit is and it does go together easily. Well, I was puzzled at first at Step 5 and maybe the instructions should mention that rail #62 needs to be tilted upwards a little to get the rail to fit into the main part #44. I like it that the rower can be stored vertically in a really small amount of space, but be forewarned that this rower is top heavy and for safety you'll need at least two bungee cords to keep the unit upright, attaching them to something; in my case to a third garage door. I have had this unit only a short time, and I will post an update once I've had it for a year. As for working your legs, I have to admit that I'm mainly rowing for upper body strength and I use other forms of exercise for leg strength (like walking fast, biking, or using a trampoline. But if you pull as far forward as possible, then you can give preference to your legs for the first 4 feet or so of travel. I also admit to not taking the two electronic connectors apart at Step 7. I simply inserted the two batteries while the other parts remained connected. By the way, there is plenty of resistance here, even in the lowest resistance settings. Kudos to Sunny Health & Fitness !

If the resistance is determined by how I row, is the damper making it even harder or easier relative to that? Why cant anyone really explain it?
