Are these in your home? How many pins could you have there? It looks like it may be your basement. I live out west, and we don't have any basements here in the desert 😂 so we can fit nine pins, max - without losing something else, anyway.

After u wax how long u wait to play it
@arcade-cabinets9 күн бұрын
I usually wait till the wax fully dries before rubbing it in. then I"ll play immediately. In this case it was a few hours as after I waxed I had to leave to do some stuff outside of my house. but usually once the wax dries and I rub it in I play. I also got a tip from a famous pinball clear coating guy, use maquires quick wax (spray in a red bottle) every few month (in my case I use it whenever I remove the glass for any reason) it really keeps the games playing fast and nice. I usually don't do a regular wax except I always wax a new game before plyaing. and maybe once a year I"ll do a full wax, the maquires spray quick wax (in the red bottle) really is quite amazing. That was one of the best tips I ever got in terms of keeping things nice.

the maquires is just like wiping it down, it only takes like 2 minutes.

at 4:28, what did you knob did you adjust to make the signal on your scope go from fuzzy to still and clear when you was looking at that clock signal. thanks
@arcade-cabinetsАй бұрын
The timing resolution (X axis) adjustment, basically made each grid block a smaller time frame so you could see the fast movement. If you have an o-scope and are not used to it check out some of the learning to use an oscope videos on you tube (I don't have any) it will REALLY REALLY help you out. just need the basics. and very important practice on some known good signals (like clocks on a working board) before trying to repair a board, otherwise you'll be fightingg your tool rather than having it help you. It really really really really one of the best uses of your time to make you maximize your tool.

@@jeremylester6537 it is one of the best tools you can have and I suggest you use it! but you do need to spend some time learning the tool or it will just cause confusion. spend 1-2 hours getting the feel of it and it will increase your repair ability 100x no joke.

I'd contact you vendor and ask for advice I have shakers in all my games and each sounds and feels different. I know they have things to modify how each feels including speed the weight distribution and the frequency so if you feel it's not working correctly contact the vendor and see if they can suggest something. I know some of my games are loud and some are not I don't know if it's the games and how it controls the shaker or if it's how the shaker settings arehonestly

@@arcade-cabinets I wonder if this can be emulated correctly on modern hardware
@arcade-cabinetsАй бұрын
@@MrTimsWorldTV there's no need to emulate it. it's x86 it can run directly on hardware or virtualized. you just need to either add support for the hardware you use or use hardware it supports. The easiest way is to actually buy one of their USB IO boards and try to buy an old video card etc that's already supported. I have another video where I built one out of older hardware that was already supported using their IO board and stand alone monitor with 3M touch controller. monitors with supported touch controllers could be bought cheaply (like $99) a few years ago (like pre covid) and the IO boards can be picked up on ebay. with truly modern hardware it's an issue of getting centos 5.x to install on it and supporting the video card and tricking the installer to like your motherboard as if I recall they were hardcoded or used a list of boards that the software "knew" about and were allowed. I think I have a video on that somewhere... I could be wrong though I"ve lost track of the stuff I did back then

Should reset pins on any arcade pcb ALWAYS be pulsing?
@arcade-cabinets2 ай бұрын
no they should never be pulsing when the game is fully working. only when the game is NOT working. if a game is NOT working AND it's NOT pulsing you probably have a timing chain (sync) issue or something related and it DEFINITELY needs to be fixed.
@markherring35132 ай бұрын
@@arcade-cabinets but at 4:00 you say the reset is good ...and its toggling..correct? You adjust the timing and it shows reset going hi/low repeatedly.
@arcade-cabinets2 ай бұрын
@@markherring3513 ah that means the reset circuit is acting properly (but the board is bad). Basically when fixing a board that's bad (at least in regards to the CPU/ not specifically the graphics or sound etc) the reset SHOULD be pulsing. When a board is working correctly it will NOT be pulsing. But a known broken board that is NOT pulsing means the RESET circuit is broken and it won't work correctly usually. so that should first be diagnosed. as the reset circuit fires ONCE a millisecond or so after the power is stable. without that signal it will not work correctly (usually sometimes you get lucky but often will have inconsistent results when turning on) TL;DR: broken game: reset SHOULD toggle, once game is fixed: it should NOT toggle BUT if a game is broken and its NOT toggling that reset circuit is broken and MUST be repaired before going any further
@markherring35132 ай бұрын
@@arcade-cabinets Thanks..i'll have to re-read this about 5 times to get it haha. So a working board will have a pegged HI reset? For example on an Asteroids, a working asteroids board the reset should not be pulsing and pegged hi?
@arcade-cabinets2 ай бұрын
correct. that said just because a board has high doesn't reset doesn't mean it's (the board in general) working. for example if the reset circuit itself is broken it might be high. So basically if a board is not working, a good thing to do is remove the CPU (Which will cause it to "Break") and make sure the reset circuit starts toggling. if it does not, you've probably found the issue to fix. (though might have more issues too ;)

I like zeppelin (premium) I don’t think it’s anything like high speed or HS2 or most other Steve r games thya usually have the same loops and center smash thing . Shots and fun and fast and flows amazing pretty open which is a change from his normal pit a smash thing dead center and the electric magic is a nice addition. (I guess it’s kind of a center thing but not a smasher) It’s a fun game.

It would be so great if we could get this across the finish line on modern hardware. Eventually the supported hardware supply is going to dry up and this would be great for gaming preservation. I for one have a working Aurora that I would love to gut and put modern hardware in so that it could be potentially fanless and whisper quiet to operate.

The balls make it look virtual, but wow the lighting on the playfield and toys is becoming extremely realistic, isn't it?
@arcade-cabinets3 ай бұрын
It really does I’m also Amazed how most games play. For the most part when they run fast enough the physics really do match well I guess phsysics/math is math but it’s just surprised me how realistic most games are to their physical counterparts in terms of shots
@texz713 ай бұрын
To answer your question as to why the balls are greasy, it's because they dip them in oil so they don't rust in transit or storage. That playfield clear coat looks like crap with all the orange peal going on. That much money for that machine with poor quality playfield, no art blades, or other cool stuff is a complete rip off.
@arcade-cabinets3 ай бұрын
There's no orange peel on this playfield?!? I mean it's not glass like a Buthamburg playfield which is like a pane of glass, but it's like any other Stern game it actually seems a bit better. I could care less about the toys or blades (I like mirror blades anyway, though I was surprised there was no mirror blades, or why the shooter rod didn't have a bond 60th plate which was weird, but This is one of the greatest shooters I've played ever.

If you want to make your life easier, you should trigger off of the Fluke. Hook the BNC connector on the back of the Fluke to one of your channels on the scope. Then every time the Fluke reads or writes it will trigger your scope. I have a video about it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmasha2dqqaGepI

When putting arcade games in Test Mode to test the ROM chips, Program RAM and Video RAM, this has different "Boot sequence programs" for each test programs? Its not just 1 Boot sequence program it has a separate boot sequence program for each test?

Often on the fluke 9010A will get DCD errors or BTS errors if the RAM chips rails are at +5vdc and -5vdc, if the RAM voltage rails are +5.10 to 5.20 on the positive or negative rails it will cause a DCD error or BTS error, it has to do something of the memory cells in the RAM chips, any reasons why this causes RAM errors? also why you have to turn OFF the Fluke power supply TRAP to avoid DCD errors and BTS errors, the TRAP function does what on the fluke power supply?
