Might I recommend adding the synthetic rope fairlead as well. I also seen a few people mention smoothing out the drum ensuring there are no burs on the drum that will cut the rope under tension. I would also recommend replacing your hook with a soft shackle additionally changing out any snatch blocks you've used against steel cable as it can also develop burs that will cut the rope.

Take that set screw to a hardware store and buy a longer bolt the same thread size and pitch with a rounded allen screw. The head should look like a carraige head bolt head. Now thread this new screw through the loop on the new rope and into the winch drum.

I contacted Jackery because they said their battery is cover for 10 years. After sending all the required documents they ask. They gave me the same instructions I have been doing. Lol. Upgrade? Replacing an extremely durable wire rope with extremely NOT durable synthetic rope is NOT an upgrade. The wire rope on my Warn 8274 was installed in 1983 and still looks and performs like new. I have seen at least a dozen synthetic winch ropes break in the last two years. The only way this is an upgrade is if you are too much of a pussy to pull cable.
@gregorykern967922 күн бұрын
Another thing to understand...The SHACKLES: The top has one mounting hole but the bottom often has 2 or more. If the holes are ONE inch apart, that does not equal one inch of height difference since only the rear part of the spring is moved. With the axle mounted between the mounting points of the leaf spring, whatever change that you make in shackle length, you must divide by two. Holes that are an inch apart often result in a ride height difference of only one HALF of an inch.

Dude hf warranty is a joke my winch is barred in my trailer box I have enough room to swap the rope out but will take me 3 hrs to pull the whole thing I pay for the extended warranty that covers 100% parts and repair or replacement and they won't replace the rope without replacing the whole thing witch i don't wanna do
@nextweeksadventure22 күн бұрын
Dude yer situation does suck as far as work to get winch out, but honestly they are willing to replace the entire unit no question. Most companies would give you an absolute run around before even considering replacing anything under warranty. I'm putting this HF warranty in the win category just because they are willing to just say F-it and give you a completely new setup.
