‘You’re, all, leaders’ my arse 😂 No appeal to humour will cover the fact that you’re just teaching them how to execute orders. I don’t like your sheet of paper, mate. It’s a damn stupid blank rectangular sheet of paper. It reminds me of the faulty printer- a splendid metaphor for this whole goddamn company. I’ll make myself a paper plane and fly off, away from here. Try this instead. Our company’s revenues have slacked. And I don’t know about you, but I miss my bonus 😄 All right 🙂 It’s time to take a break from worrying and make a breakthrough. Let’s build a big, nice paper plane. We’ll get that bonus and we’ll fly to our team retreat someone nice. And warm 😄 OK 🙂*hand to them coloured pieces of paper of different shapes, some with holes of different shapes. Be careful to place different tools- staplers, sellotape on different tables. Very important- place essential tools on your trainer desk* We have 30 minutes. We can walk, sit, join whatever table, use the floor if you want. Have we got everything? Scissors, sellotape… Check? Good 😊 What else do we need? Paper clips? That’s one good idea, I like your thinking. But we haven’t got any 🤷‍♂️ Never mind, we’ll find something else. Ready? All right. Let’s do this 😊 *clap your hands* Walk the floor but don’t hoover (*- hover. Spelling is important. And, yes, you may correctly read into it that I strongly believe that a big cleaning of companies to get rid of incompetent idiots would be useful*) above anyone. Apart from encouraging smiles don’t intervene. And keep your mouth shut. Provide them with additional materials they need AFTER they ask. In doing so, you shall see. Who’s who in the company. Who’s bossy and who is a leader. Who’s creative. Who’s slacking. Who’s bullying. Who is good at new ideas and who takes pleasure in-and is good at- implementing others’ creative ideas. Who collaborates and who doesn’t. Who has fun with playing and who is a stickler for rules. Has anyone asked for the very important tools that were on your desk (their attitude towards authority)? Afterwards, you can: Talk about diversity (different colours, different shapes) The power and importance of having fun whilst being creative There’s not just one way to skin a cat but options are limited because of time and other resources constraints Collaboration between and within departments The importance of deadlines Delegation of tasks The ability to do something nice and useful even though you don’t have all the resources you thought indispensable Etc. Celebrate their achievement and thank them. Lunch break. You will see most of them glowing and energised. And you will think for yourself that maybe- just maybe- you’ve done a decent job. After the training display their creation somewhere visible in a common area with a note with the date and ‘congratulations’ message. If you have a series of these training sessions/ workshops there will be a collection. You better do your job as a leader and make damn sure that the newer ones are better and better, causing them bigger smiles when they look at them.

I love this exercise. I use it all the time to talk about accommodations at work. Many employers are afraid of accommodations, but everyone has a unique learning style. I don't give any helping information and have them do it with their eyes closed. We then list what I could have done better to get them to my outcome. This is always a memorable exercise.

Teamwork is one that is for the benefit of the organization, and team members and do not harm others. The Otherside is junk politics and hypnotizing crime by a team. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXa8YYSmp5Kebrc

I just got promoted to a Trainer/Sales Coach position and will be handling my first batch of trainees next week. I'm currently doing an extensive research on how I can make the training more interactive and effective. This activity will surely be of great help. I love how the speaker related the activity and its outcome to the what their company's goals are. This is a brilliant approach on setting up proper expectations and also to open up communication among the team. Thank you so much. Will definitely use this next week! 🤞

Just did this exercise with my husband and we are both cracking up! His mask looks like a Batman mask but he said all the same things as well. Too fast, no clear direction detail, BUT he also didn’t ask questions! Although, he asked me to slow down, he still didn’t ask which corner. So even when I slowed down he didn’t have the same result as I did.
