Huge GGs. I want to give some context for anyone unfamiliar. As stupid as this game looks, this is actually quite an optimised time. Chris spent many hours across a week and a half seriously grinding for this time. It took him hundreds of attempts in order to get this time. As early as level 2, you have RNG which will make or break the run. If you get bad RNG, the run instantly dies, you lose around 20 seconds. And the chances to get good “the run can continue” RNG feels no higher than 2%. And then the next level also has run determining RNG where run killing RNG is far more common. So few of Chris’ runs would make it past level 2 and most of the ones that did died in level 3 due to bad RNG. Not to mention that this game is prone to crashing. Even if you get the RNG you need to get a run going, the game could still just crash and ruin everything (which happened more than a few times to Chris). This run isn’t perfect but there isn’t that much more time you can squeeze out and beating this run will be a huge challenge. You need super good RNG with very low odds and you still need the execution and not make any other mistakes to top it all off. This game is not execution heavy at all but things can still go wrong, especially since the game has pretty unresponsive controls. Unless something huge is discovered, this is very much the final minute barrier for this game and if anyone beats it, it will be quite the achievement, which is a wild thing to say about a V Smile game of all things but it is indeed reality.

Why do you reset the game when switching characters? I don’t see how that can save time over jumping into the Factory Ring and using the character swapper there when you’re forced to sit through about ten seconds of the intro and then mash through the menus. I guess I can understand using it after playing the third acts of Toy Kingdom and Cyber Track to avoid going back through the maps, but why do that when moving between Zones after boss fights? The Factory Ring is RIGHT THERE!

I never had my own snes to play this game and the gba option was the only thing I had. Played this so many times !!

Crazy to see this absolute childhood hit be beaten so fast, yet still have most of the actual authentic gameplay that I remember actually being played out. Hard to say the same for Spongebob battle for bikini bottom speed runs, despite having similar any% world record times.

I discovered this game back when it came out and Xmen 6 players arcade was also a thing so I was looking foward to play as Wolverine!! I finally played the game at a friends house who rented it, he was a big Xmen fan too. Since the game was hard and challenging, we could not finish game but later on I had another friens who said he was in his way to buy a new snes game and he was not sure what to buy so I went with him and convinced him to buy Spiderman Xmen instead of lost vikings. lol Even with the game available play whenever we wanted, we still could not finish it. we discovered the trick in Gambit stage too for getting extra lives but even with infinite lives... the Juggernaut man... its so haunting hahah. And then, at that time with nonl internet, our only source of info on this game were gaming magazines that we had to hope were about that game or just a magz with some game genie codes to be able to beat it but to no avail...we searched for long years at some places which sold gaming magz we could not find any codes for this game, at that time..we were so desperate to beat it too!!. I know now that there is a thing about Juggernauts Hp but I still find it interesting that even if you do your best, i mean trying to land as many ankvil on him and clawing him in between shots...still cant beat it the hard way. noooo i dont want to jump in that big yellow net noooooo hahahahaha even then.. this game was super hard fornthe other stages too but not knowing the trick to beat Juggernaut is really something. Thank you for playing the best nostalgic Xmen game which includes Spiderman. Thanks for letting me express my best memories of this game. I love the ost and listen to it every now and then.
