I heard this for the first time tonight watching Valentino's fashions at The Chateau. Anohni did the soundtrack, and I was so moved by all the songs, but especially this one. It pierced my soul. I lost my brother to cancer in December, and I'm still so wrecked by it. He lived so bravely with it for 5 years as he continued to work, and then when he couldn't work anymore, he came to help me take care of our parents. Mom passed 3 years ago, and my dad will be 99 tomorrow. This song encompasses all the feelings he and I shared going through caring for mom until she passed, grieving the passing of friends, and the knowledge that he was not going to outlive dad. I have replayed this song for hours now, and have cried till i have no more tears. I will see you again dear brother, and although i miss my best friend desperately, i am grateful to God that He took you away from the pain ❤

It is unbelievably hurtful, search for the video where she explains the story behind it, my heart bled, still bleeds in pain when I allow Anohni to transport me to her emotions and her silenced feelings! But indeed an amazingly beautiful song!!

Anohni has reached a level of greatness and immortality once she has been able to reach, dig and gently but painfully scratch our souls, our feelings and emotions like nobody else has, does and ever will do. Her voice tone, notes, color in every single word, letter and silences is unbelievably precise to achieve her objective: to transport her audience to a place where only exists the joy of living and enjoying the moment, whether that moment is bright, or gray and dark like life is, I can feel the sacrifices she’s had to go through, throughout decades of intense dedication and hard work to be where she needs to be, I find that WE her fans need to help contribute to a much more exposure and global recognition for her longevity in show business acknowledging how underrated, under appreciated and under awarded we have been to our Anohni! I’m completely out of tears in my eyes, I’ve just completed a 6 hour back to back KZbin reproduction of my favorite Anohni songs and interviews and can never ever have enough! Thanks a million Anohni for your greatness!! Thanks for your love and dedication to making of every interpretation a remarkable although painful experience always Thanks for the immense and generous dedication of your life to achieve those amazing interpretations Thanks for everything you are yet to give to us, your fans and please don’t ever change the way you are, the way you sing, the way you arrange music, and the way you impact out lives when you keep improving over and over and over again each and all of your songs!!!!!! Her Cellist whom has been an enormous pillar in her personal and professional journey. This incredibly talented Cellist has given a deeply emotional touch yo so many of Anohni’s interpretations, I’m convinced the collaboration of this two huge artists is a great asset for us the fans/listeners of their work.
