What brand, and the length (65', 72' etc), did you use for the passenger cars?

Man I haven’t seen an on Hook Couplers since I had A Tyco Train Set 🤣🤣🤣
@midwestmodelrailroadz402216 күн бұрын
Yeah I've started printing new horn hooks that are stronger and allow for more up and down movement than kadees. Plus for backing into hook up a train horns always line up no matter what angle they are at. Holds on the hills great too for long trains. Slowly I'm replacing all my kadees with the new couplers I'm printing.

Thank you. Can't see the grinding lights as much in this video but you sure can hear the Grinders "grinding rail" really good in this one. Hard to get both well in a video. I'll have to try this shot with the city lights on so you can see sparks and hear them working. Thank you again very much.

@@midwestmodelrailroadz4022 seen most of the videos on this....looks like you used a GP38-2 or GP40-2 for gearing...
@midwestmodelrailroadz4022Ай бұрын
Yup. I was just going to print this as a static display on the layout. Then I got the idea to power it and then came the lights and then lastly the grinding sound. So fun to take a "wild idea" and a few months later this is the end result. The old blue box drive makes it run so smooth.

Very nice... The last time I heard C&O No. 1600 is at the Henry Ford Museum in Michigan and No. 1604 is at The B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, Maryland. 1604 really needs to be restored so it can put that so called "Big Boy" to shame...😁👍

Neat! Is the first roller applying anything or also cleaning? And what are they cleaning? I assume the oil or grease that ends up on the tracks from the wheels
@midwestmodelrailroadz40226 ай бұрын
Yes the first is a wet roller with mineral spirits and the second is a dry roll cleaning/wiping the dirt off the tracks.
