Thanks for the detailed spectrum analysis. I just got three volcas and the mix and a steep learning curve. Those buttons were on my 'later list' for all the reasons you describe. I agree the manual is lacking but it's almost like they're telling us to go fiddle with it and figure it out. You've helped with that. Cheers!

I'm a scratch dj and want to get one of these unit to plug in my mixer so I can make scratch beats , which would be better to get ? I produce a bit on pc so have a wealth of samples , I'm torn between the sample and drum or should I get both ( I can afford both ) ....or do I skip them all and get a a drumlouge or similar unit , I will probably use whatever I get in production too as well as a live situations

Well done, thanks for this. I have volca keys, beats and mix, I noticed that when I turn the knob back and forth, it seems that I'm sweeping a smooth notch filter rather than a passband. I can't say that this sounds "bad", but I would like to have the ability to bypass the tone control, at least.

Anyone else having issues with getting per step pitch sequencing to work? I tried holding down the step and editing the sound but it keeps changing the pitch for all of the steps

They really bungled the inputs. I already have a ton of fucking cables, like stackers and midi, so why tf am I now required to buy another one just for this piece to connect to outside sequencers? Even $10 on something that's not standard for modular on a "modular" synth to connects to this "modular". I love west coast synthesis and love playing on it, but I find this poorly planned. I wish I could just afford an easel command. I've aimed my modular in a Buchla direction because buchla modules are so fucking expensive. This is a great budget west coast synth, but this input seems like an afterthought, when I think it should be more central and easily integrated but no.

Sampler is versatile sure, but I'm looking for a drum machine, and to me, the drum seems better purely at doing drums. The versatility of the mixer are things I'm ok with doing in the box. I'm likely not going to track these sounds anyway but use them to control samples in my DAW, or, use as an untracked metronome, as I play much better to a drum track than a metronome.

Very nice, I love the switch up at approximately 1.04. Are you layering? Is this one take? With those kind of sounds you could consider doing a cover of the Dawn of War from War of the Worlds, I'd love to hear it on volcas!!! It's completely bizarre. The keys are highly recommended by many professional producers, I found many videos on KZbin that testify, is the best volca, but often make the bottom of the list in favourites. I don't get it it was my first analogue synthesizer. I still use it and I think it's great
