Where did you get that tub? I like that size. And what is the secondary smaller tube? Does that just drain into tub? Is it from the pee spout? Does garden hose fit bilge pumps? What size are you using?

First of all thank you for sharing the video. I'm thinking about doing the same with my Yamaha F80 (2011). I would apreciate if you could answer me some doubts I have. 1. For how long did you run the bilge pump? 2. Did you add some water to the Ryldlyme? Which was the proportion? Thank you in advance.

How much did the 10hp more gain on performance and top speed?

As purchased with 50hp and 14" Suzuki prop it did 26 knots. Lifting the engine gave 29 knots, I never managed to exceed 30 knots until the new engine which I never tried unmodified. Now it has a 17" Suzuki propellor and does 34 knots (63 kmh), probably 35 is possible, I've not been out alone enough to try. 30 knots is easy loaded with four adults in adverse conditions. The 17" propellor returns 2.1Nm/L at 25 knots cruising speed, nice and relaxed, before the upgrade that speed was thrashing it with poor economy.

Hull design is always a compromise. Medium V rising to flat outer chines means there's a hard slam when it's really rough otherwise normally comfy in a chop and through wakes. Deeper V would need more power and not be as fast as this hull. I went around Selsey Bill in dreadful conditions that fetched the aux off (good job secured with safety chain) and I had to slow to about 14kn in the overfalls but the boat never felt unsafe. Nice feature is the self draining deck not that it's easy to stuff the bow anyway. Really rough stuff requires suspension or jockey seats not part of the Ranieri design. I've had the latter, prefer the Ranieri layout as it allows huge recreation deck up front.

Nice Review. I think you sent me this some time ago but I missed the message. A few things you have done I will deffo copy, like the little net at the console, The Bimini, and I like your recessed power switch. Somthing to think about for the spring. I am still in 2 minds about keeping the 50 hp. This will be kept on a swing mooring and I don't want a too valuable engine on it and while more power is good, I was ok with what the 50hp would deliver. I have other boats if I want speed but still not decided

Worth getting a tracker on it. I have a Rewire Security DB2 which is cheap to buy and run and gives an alert if the main battery's getting low. Useful feature for an auto bilge pump on the mooring. Also forgot to mention both seats are lockable, matching keys.

Since making the video I dropped the new engine by 1 hole (now 20mm above keel) but +40mm definitely works best with the older DF50 engine.
