I bet if San José didn’t have height restrictions it’d have some nice tall sky skrapers, but at the same time those small buildings do make San Jose seem like a smaller town than it is.
@volaredrones7 ай бұрын
Interesting. I was not aware the city had a limit to building heights for the whole city. Makes sense around the airport but not for the whole city. It definitely is more of a sprawling city than a tall one.

When using the throttle especially at the highest speed are the pedals going round at speed also? I have a hub drive with throttle and like the rest my legs get when using it. (I have mobility problems) I have a similar mid drive bike that uses that cable would like too know if my legs are not forced to go round when using the throttle thanks.
@volaredrones10 ай бұрын
I cannot speak for other model mid drive bikes as I don't have any other than my priority current e-bike and some motors might be different. But in my case with the middrive on my bike model from priority, the pedals do not move when you use the throttle. In fact at the very end of the video I demo the throttle and the pedals do not move

Have you had any issues with the conversion? Man, Priority is adamant about not doing this, something about the firmware and battery not being compatible, and obviously voids the warranty..You seem to be having good luck though right?
@volaredrones Жыл бұрын
No issues so far at all for me. I've had it running since I published this video and not once has it done anything wrong. The only downside for me is that when I do use the throttle it will deplete the battery a bit more which was expected as there is no more pedal power helping

You showed Westfield Valleyfair and Great America in this video, yet these 2 places are in Santa Clara, not San Jose!
@volaredrones Жыл бұрын
Correct. And so is Levi's stadium. The mall is actually split in half by the two city limits and the fact that Levi's Stadium also takes the liberty to host the SF 49ers I thought I'd take the liberty as well and pass them into the San Jose video due to proximity and significance. And I was not sure when I'd get the time to do Santa Clara.

Did Stanford hire you for drone footage? They don't allow drone operations from their campus.
@volaredrones Жыл бұрын
No I was not hired. Good thing I wasn't on campus grounds for takeoff and landing. Private property own the airspace above them but it is also considered navigable airspace and easement of Transit by the FAA, and state and local governments have no authority over flight regulations as that would undermine the FAA. The local laws can only affect landing and takeoff locations as well as surveillance and spying of specific persons in their own private property which neither was the case here. But if Stanford would like to file a complaint they can do so on the FAA website.

Third largest city in California (behind Los Angeles and San Diego) and the tech capital of the entire West Coast, I might even go as far as to say San Jose's been a bit overlooked by comparison. All it's really lacking at this point is an NBA team, an MLB club, and an NFL team (guess the Golden State Warriors still make a convenient "loop hole" regarding the first of the three, lol). At least they got hockey and soccer covered in the meantime... 😅
@volaredrones Жыл бұрын
I think it's overlooked because it feels much more like a sprawling suburb and office center to the bay area and San Francisco. SF takes the spotlight away in terms of attractions and history from SJ a lot imo. I remember when the San Jose Sharks was an extremely strong team back in the day. But never won the Stanley cup

whast the top speed you get on the throttle?
@volaredrones2 жыл бұрын
Speed and acceleration scales with how low or high your gearing is as well as power level. You can go up to the max 28mph or whatever your max speed is set to under right gearing and conditions before power shuts off automatically to the motor as it would in pedal assist
@paulwitt2 жыл бұрын
I reached out to Truckrun's international sales rep and got an order of 10 of these cables. I need 3 and will be selling the rest on Ebay. I'll post here when that goes up. One thing to note though, you can't pull the new cable through because of how they're routed inside the frame. However, you can route it through the frame if you want. To do so you have to a) remove the battery, b) remove the screws holding in the top and bottom brackets for the battery connectors. The bottom connector is held in by two small screws. The top has those same 2 screws, 2 larger screws that mount the lock mechanism (it helps to leave the key in and turned so the lock mechanism doesn't fall and is held in place), and 1 screw that holds the battery pins on. c) remove the black plastic cover over the wiring channel which is held on by three tiny screws. You will need a well sized screwdriver to avoid stripping any of these as they're all small and very tight. If you try using a cheap screwdriver you will strip them. Once all those are off you'll see the old cable and a few others. Simply replace the old one for the new one. Getting it back together can be a pain because that black plastic cover doesn't exactly snap on. You have to hold the wires/cables behind it in place while you're screwing.

I have heard stories of people modifying their bikes and their transmissions can't handle the power. please let us know how yours is holding up
@volaredrones2 жыл бұрын
Yea for sure. I heard stories of that too. The enviolo hub is vulnerable when shifting gears but when locked into a gear it is stable. Even when in pedal assist only it is recommended you lay off the pedals a bit when shifting according to Priority. Same principle applies with the throttle. Let go of the throttle a bit when shifting. I do this and so far I haven't had any issues with my shifter hub and I've owned the bike for almost a year with 500+ miles on it. I usually only shift at stops anyways for an easier acceleration which is a benefit of the enviolo hub to be able to shift at a complete stop.
@Thiccolo2 жыл бұрын
@@volaredrones ahh, I'm going to buy this as my first bike in a long-time. I have always been used to shifting while pedaling, I guess with e-bikes you just have to be a little more precautious. Thanks for the info.

If you're pulling out the old integrated cable, you can tape the new one to the end of it. Then you pull both through. Unfortunately those cables are already sold out on eBay. I'm 95% sure I want the Current but it hinges on this mod...
@volaredrones2 жыл бұрын
Hello Charlie. There's some good news. Although I don't see them anymore now there are cables called T4 ebike cables on Ebay that are sometimes in stock which seem to be the same correct generic brand cables. If you find these on Ebay I'd recommend giving those a chance although I haven't tried one personally. As long as the shape of the connectors match it should be ok. Look for the connector that attaches directly to the motor. For that trapezoidal shape
