I didn’t save scarcely anything whilst raising my kids. It was very costly, and I just wanted to make sure I took care of them and didn’t think I’d ever retire. (I had no faith in where my country was going.). Guess what? I was wrong! I had too much of an apocalyptic outlook! I got older, and got injured. Still working, but it’s been harder!😂 Have saved enough lately, but could have been maybe 30% more. Young people, if your company matches what you put into a retirement plan (up to 3% often in America), I implore you! That is a 100% return on your investment! Please do at least that. You can’t afford Not to. Many people have guessed Jesus was coming back before they retired…and guess what? They were wrong. At least take the devil’s money to match God’s money you are saving! Live like Jesus is coming back today, plan like it’s a 100 years away. It is not a sin to do so. God loves you. He’s the Zealous One, BUT He’s also the Smartest One!

Better late than never. Maybe I can put some of this in action now. But I know God can use me in a spiritual way. Messages earned are messages anointed to pass on to others. True riches. I’m reminded of Booker T. Washington’s book, “Up From Slavery.” After slavery was abolished in America. Many of the older ex-slaves, after a short time of total freedom from their former masters (to ensure both sides knew their new, changed relationship from slaves to free men)… …eventually often took that ‘long, slow walk’ back to their former master’s house to negotiate a “new “ arrangement. After all, they had never known anything else. Was their life a waste? A thousand times, no! We’ve got to make the best of the hand we were born in. If we show God our hand of cards ( these are American phrases) He will be praised. But we must keep growing. Maybe we started late, and will never be a billionaire, but we will be the best we can be. And if we glorify God, by doing His Will, we will be successful. AND He will make everything work out for the best!

The lady is right about it not just being “an African thing,” and a young person thing (that it’s never too late). Grateful for her encouragement. I’m American, and am 68

I went to a Bible School in America, and there was a strong, beautiful young woman from Uganda One day she was crying, we found out 80 or so members of her church in Uganda had been murdered by Idi Amin

Thank You Natalie for asking the hard questions to Mr. Patrick as he alludes to that analogy of breaking the plate. I see the double standards when he refuses to acknowledge that we need to break our plate , he needs to walk the talk.
