by my calculations, you lost an extra $495 with your poor holds. While you say, you only go for the big ones, it's the playing correctly that allows your money to stretch further. By doing that, you will naturally see the big hands eventually. If you plan to play for a while, correct basic strategy is always better. If you are going to play one hand at $100 denom just for fun, then maybe you go for the big ones. With that extra $495 as "free play" basically, you might have gotten your four aces. Instead, you have to reload or you are out of money. Good luck!

@MrJackpotLV4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your input, but I need to point out the obvious: Just a cursory review of the multiple video of my hand-paid jackpots while playing video poker clearly serve to rebuttal your assertion, sir. Notably, on a number of occasions, I have gone out of my way to point out that I purposefully DO NOT follow textbook video poker strategy because my focus is on hitting those hand-pays rather than simply playing longer. At no time have I ever suggested or recommended that viewers follow my strategy. Everyone should simply follow the strategy that works best for them. Heck, some players believe that simply raising the volume on a slot machine increases their odds of hitting a jackpot. I say, to each his (or her) own. In my case, focusing on the top tier jackpots (and playing the much more volatile video poker games) has been a strategy that has worked for me time and time (and time... ) again. Finally, it just seems completely illogical to criticize a strategy when the video itself is proof that the strategy worked! Now, to be fair,, if that were my only hand-paid jackpot, then you might have a case and simply attribute it to pure dumb luck, but again, my multiple (I've lost count) video poker jackpots serve to show that "the worst holds" are in fact, not the case. [] FYI: I'll be back in Las Vegas in a few weeks raking up a few more hand-paid jackpots [I hit at least one on EVERY trip] while playing those so-called "worst holds." Please stay tuned. Thank you!

Hello Mike. Thanks for the input, but as I noted here (and on some of my other video posts), I simply don't rely on textbook strategy. If you'll notice, I repeatedly point to the pay tables on the left side of the screen because, as I mentioned, I focus primarily on trying to hit the big tier jackpots. In this game, both four Aces (with a kicker) and four 2's, 3's or 4's (with a kicker) pay as much as a royal flush; and, if you take the time to view some of my other videos, you'll see where I continue to hit those hand-paid jackpots (4,000 credits) time and time again. Incredibly, several of the four Aces (with a kicker) jackpots that I've hit were when I held only ONE Ace, so, yes, you're going to see me forsake what normally would be considered optimal play when there's an 'Ace in the whole'. :-) Please review some of my other videos [check out my Playlist, "Video Poker Jackpots" to see what I'm talking about. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4Ovfo2Mqtueoq8si=co3V2FmJeSKYLYRa

Holding just a single ace when you have a pair (7's, 10's) is the wrong hold.
@MrJackpotLV7 ай бұрын
Well, yes, Sara, while I understand that's not the supposed "optimal play" on my part and certainly not textbook strategy, as I've explained to others who've pointed it out, I specifically play the very volatile Triple Double Bonus Poker game because my focus is on the top tier payout of 4,000 credits on a 4-Aces with Kicker hit; consequently, I will almost always hold the one Ace in lieu of a potential 3 (or 4) of a kind (5 -thru 10). And, indeed as a review of my video poker jackpots will show, that has been an on-going consistent winning strategy for me. Just this year alone, I have hit at least one set [in some cases two or more] of 4-Aces with a Kicker [and, on several occasions, as in this case, while holding only ONE Ace] during every one of my trips to Las Vegas. So, again, yes, while it may be the wrong hold theoretically, in my reality, it's actually been the best play. Thank you for watching and, please stay tuned, as I will be posting more videos further confirming how my "wrong" play strategy has actually worked in my favor.

@MrJackpotLV I've been playing Triple Double Bonus Poker since it was invented. Yes sometimes you will get 4 aces and a kicker holding just a single ace but at $25 a hand those low four of a kinds will keep you playing longer and greatly increase the amount of times you'll get the big kicker hands. If you want "Volatile" try Ultimate X Triple Double Bonus. 😁 Good luck and I hope you hit some big ones!

I've hit over eight (8) hand-paid jackpots ($4,000, $8000) on THIS machine alone over the last year; in fact, I've hit a hand-paid jackpot on THIS machine on EVERY one of my trips to Vegas this year [ usually on the first night of my trip (as in this case) and usually with very minimal buy-in]. This video poker machine (and the one at the Gem Bar at Aria) have been VERY, VERY good to me. People will give me grief about how I play video poker [and, yes, I agree, it's not standard play; and certainly not "optimal play" per se]. but again, if the strategy is working for me, why should I change it, right? Thanks for watching.

@MrJackpotLV7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. Yes, you're right; you can see where on a few occasions I was trying to play (i.e., hit 'hold') before screen was in play/ draw mode. I had arrived in Vegas just before midnight and hadn't slept as it was about 3:00 a.m.(5:00 a.m., Texas time for me). Additionally, my standard practice on the Triple Double Bonus game is to always go for the "Ace" even when there are a pair of high cards (#'s 5 - 10) showing. I also don't generally play/ hold two or more off-suited face cards and I forgo a potential Full House [in lieu of a potential 4 of A Kind] when there's two pairs and one pair is a set of face cards. My strategy is to always [well, with some exceptions on a whim] to go for the highest winning combination. On this machine alone, I've hit 4-Aces with a kicker holding just ONE Ace (as I this case) several times. So, yeah, bottomline: You won't see me playing standard textbook strategy; however, as my videos prove, my "hard to watch" strategy has worked out for me very well. Again, thank you.

Yes, horrible... truly horrific... and, yet... on my most recent trip [less than two weeks ago]. In fact, I did so well, that I extended my stay for several days... AND, now will be returning in a few weeks in conjunction with a very generous "can't say 'no' to" offer of 5 free nights, $2,000 free play, $1,000 F&B, Limo transportation (etc.) Oh, the horror! 😱

@MrJackpotLV9 ай бұрын
@@videopokerwynn -- please understand that I've been going to Las Vegas for over 30 years [3x - 4x per year]. My first visit was in 1989 when I stayed at the Dunes (now site of Bellagio) and that was a free trip I won on a local radio contest drawing. I've been doing so well that I was able to retire at age 58, so, we're not talking about a one or two trip stroke of luck. Now, to be clear, I fully appreciate your point of view as to my "horrible play". You're not the first--nor do I imagine you'll be the last--to point it out; however, my video poker strategy is one that has paid dividends to me time and time and time (and... ) again. I'd be an idiot to change it up simply because some random viewer(s) tells me that my strategy is "horrible play." So, yes, I agree that it's not textbook strategy; and, the fact alone that I focus only on high volatile games should tell you that I'm not a common by-the-book type player. Bottom line: You may not see it, but I must be doing something right. Thank you fir your input. P.S. Of course you're right about the offers I receive. I'm no fool! Why are u throwing away so may pairs and straights it’s wasting money!!
@MrJackpotLV Жыл бұрын
Hello, Julie. Thank you for your input. You're right. I do sometimes throw away some hands that basic strategy says players should keep, but that's only because ~ as I've mentioned to others ~ I am entirely focused on the BIG hands (i.e., Four Aces w/ Kicker or Four 2's, 3's or 4's w/ kicker). Note that I almost exclusively play the highly volatile video poker games (e.g., Triple Double Bonus Poker), so that Jacks or Better -and/or- Two Pairs (both paying only 5 credits) are simply just "play money" for me. And, since I have the bankroll to make up for those small [insignificant, to me] losses, I don't really see it as "wasting money"; and, indeed, a cursory review of my many prior hand-paid jackpots videos will show you that I must be doing something right. To be sure, I wouldn't have lasted going to Las Vegas 3, 4, 5 times a year (sometimes even twice in one month) over the course of the last 30 years IF my strategy (as counterintuitive as it might appear at first glance) wasn't a winning one. In any case, again, thank you for your input and thank you for watching... stay tuned, there are many more winning (Jackpot!) videos coming soon.

Yes, admittedly, I made a few poor (unintentional) choices in my 'hold' selections, but as to missing pairs, as I've explained to others previously, I am simply more focused on hitting the top tier combinations, i.e,, Royal Flush, ,4 Aces w/ 2-3-4, Four 2-3-4's w/ Ace-2-3-4, Four Aces, Four 2-3-4's or in the case of face cards, Four 5's -thru- K's. Note, too, that I almost always stick to the Triple Double Bonus game where Two Pairs pays the same as Jacks or Better; moreover, IF you've viewed my Video Poker history, you'd see that my approach to video poker play--while not 'by-the-book' strategy--has, in fact, worked out very well for me, which begs the question, why would I change up a strategy that has proven to be a winning strategy for me? In any case, your input is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello Marie2. Thank you for your input. Yes, I did see that at the 7:07 marker, I apparently got momentarily distracted and failed to hold that pair of Kings. I have to admit, that was just a dumb-ass (i.e., not paying attention) move on my part. It was NOT intentional on my part. Thank you for pointing it out. Note that, as I mention in my description, I do on occasion intentionally discard pairs of face cards when the initial draw includes three to a Royal because I'm always playing for the BIG $$. I'm focused on hitting 4,000 credits [whether it's via a Royal Flush or 4-Aces with a Kicker (which is why I play the more volatile Triple Double Bonus Poker game)]. Notably, too, at the 4:40 marker, I actually ended up with a FLUSH* (i.e., NOT "garbage") when I discarded a pair of Kings. It's a strategy that has worked for me time and time again; and, so, it would simply be foolish of me to change up what has been, for me, a WINNING strategy. *NOTE: And, had that 9 of Spades been a Queen of Spades, it would have been another $8,000 jackpot. I had already hit two of them my first night playing.
