I opened it up to see if I could sus out the issue and found the exact same melted solder joint that you had. Before I resoldered it I checked here to see if that would solve the problem. Since it worked for you I tried it and VOILA! My receiver is back in action. Thanks for taking the time to record this!

Hi, how did you know these capacitors were bad? Mine doesn't show any lights or anything, but when I test these capacitors for a short, there isn't one.

Edit : sometimes when I press one key , for example, the standby key , something else happens, like , instead of going off like it was supposed to , it switches off to cd , and i have to press the standby button 2 or 3 times to actually get it to turn off... Not a deal breaker but makes my OCD kick in 😂

I have a SA-BTT785 and the speakers that are directly connected to the system are giving no sound. The one (rear ones) connect and have sound as well. What could be the problem. I have examined the components around the amplifier area. They seem to be OK.

I had the same issue on a barely used, 2 year old Vizio V585-H11 from Costco. I played around for a while and found a tape position on the other connector that returned a decent picture. one side is slightly dimmer and less clear than the other side, but I will leave it like that for a while before trying to reduce the width of the tape to further improve the picture. My tape position was not at the edge of the ribbon. Thanks!

Thanks for making this. Mine had the same F76 error and it was that same 50v 10uf cap that was bad in mine also. I tested all the caps on the power module to be sure with a MESR-100 and it was the only one bad. A note to anyone who is attempting this, there is a big cap in the center of that board that is dangerous. In mine it was a 200V. I have seen a few others where it is a 400v. Either way, it is dangerous and can really hurt you so before you do any troubleshooting you need to discharge that cap (If you don't know how to safely discharge a cap you shouldn't even be in there to begin with)!

Same bad cap on mine, the one to the right in your view. 220uF 10V shorted. Confirmed in-circuit with multimeter. Thank you so much for your analysis.

Hi Guys Same problem on my Xplod also, switched on for half second and goes off, i changed zener diodes and still the same issue, i'll try the capacitors and let you know about the results

My gosh I thought I wasn't going to find a video with the same problem I'm having, I took my xplod out of storage which is the same model u have here and it would do just that it would power on for like a half second and go back off at first i thought it was the power cord so i tried another and same thing also tried with just batteries same thing so now that I know what the issue is based on this video, where can I get a new main board?
