I initially hesitated to watch this series due to the violence, but the overall storyline is compelling. Therefore, I plan to watch the first season just before season 2 airs so I can be excited for it.

When I figured out the jet pack was removable, the playability/value of this figure rose exponentially. Having it as a separate item that other figures can wear seems like such an obvious idea, yet this is the only Rocketeer figure I'm aware of that offers it. Definitely one of the best Diamond Select figures I've ever bought.

Once you realize that Agatha wasn't actually cured from Wanda's spell, the whole firs episode becomes quite funny. In episode two, when she gets cured, it turns out that she never actually left her home in that first episoid, and everything that happened was just a dream sequence and talking to her neighbor across that hedge (just like in Wandavision). After that, Agatha returns to herself and the series' adventure begins. Yes, you need to first watch Wandavison and the Movie to fully understand this. For me, the series so far is well written and has many references to witches, their history, Wanda, etc. Almost everything they say is important, so paying attention is critical. It's a mystery series, and like the Acolyte, clues to what's going on are dished out slowly. Use of a football size stage to do the walking path is so much better than using the "Volume". I'll be there with you. More excitement to come.

Thank you for all that great info and for clarifying what I missed in episode 1. I am really hoping they stick the landing with this show; Disney Plus needs to win me back...AND needs to start believing in their own projects. So far, this one has my attention now and is picking up steam.

I believe "The Rocketeer" (from the 1950s and early 60s) was my first introduction to sci-fi action characters when I was a young child. Watching it brought back so many emotions from a time in my life that was awe-inspiring, especially as NASA was just beginning to get involved with manned spaceflight. This video really tapped into my deepest memories. I hope kids these days will be as excited about spaceflight as I was back then. Thanks for sharing the video. - Tony

That is so cool that we kind of have that in common. Also, I am so glad I could be a conduit for childhood nostalgia. That's the beauty of Pop Culture Mania -- it brings us all together. I, too, hope kids these days are interested in aerospace & space travel. I think some of my generation still is...but then again...there are not many peers I know of who are in to Star Trek for instance...including myself; I do hope someone takes a crack at Trek again, though, and makes us all care. I do sometimes feel like I am a bit of a different breed compared to the rest of my generation; my dad raised me on Flash Gordon, The Rocketeer, Zorro, Blackstar, Thundarr The Barbarian etc. A lot of pulp characters not too many peers of mine talk about. And to this day, my daily music playlist mostly consists of The Beatles, Bowie, and even Howling' Wolf...thanks mostly to my dad. So yeah. Nobody thought blues music or records were cool when I was in school so I've always felt like a bit of an Odd Man Out or an old soul.

I really can't wait for Marvel to return to "Avengers"-type stories. I'm tired of the multiverse; it gives me a headache every time I think about that series of films.

I think playing with the multiverse could be really interesting...but they just haven't done it justice...and they keep convoluting the rules. I do hope James Gunn's new DCU doesn't dip into multiverses too much, though. Really multiverses should only be used to explain reboots.

I can relate to your feelings about re-watching comedies. I've had a similar experience with my favorite comedy, "Airplane." What used to be funny to me now seems a bit goofy and no longer funny. Many 1960's TV comedy shows are now boring, on re-watch, even though I was laughing so hard back then. I think many comedies are tailored to the generation they were made for. I haven't re-watched the original, but I might have the same reaction as you did. However, I don't want this to influence your opinion of it. By the way, when re-watching the original "Alien" movie, the scenes that really scared me now seem funny, and I can't actually see the actor in that costume lurch forward. Even scary movies can have the same effect on a re-watch years later. Oh, and did I mention it already? Happy Birthday on Monday. Hug your mom; if it wasn't for her, you would not be here doing this video.

Some older comedies still hold up for me sometimes. Like even Keaton's Multiplicity is great; I also like Airplane and What's Up Doc. But yeah. I honestly had the best birthday ever.

I am unable to watch your video as it contains spoilers and I have not seen the movie yet. If the movie doesn't meet your expectations, it wouldn't surprise me. Despite the talented actors and comedy, the story is what makes the movie. Many sequels fail because of that. Many producers hope that nostalgia will bring old fans back and attract new viewers who haven't seen the original. Did you, by the way, see the sequel before the original? It may have been a different review. The original had a good story set in an environment of a strange concoction of evil and good, and seriously great comedy. However, comedy and actors won't be enough if the story is weak. I will pause here until I have the chance to review it and update with another comment. You may need to wait until I have the chance to review it. Oh, and by the way, have a great birthday on Monday. 🎉🎂

Just to recap: 1. Star Wars needs to get their crap together (29:37) because there’s clearly no plan & everything besides Mando has not been great...imo. 2. I think The Acolyte deserved one more season and that sometimes we conflate the quality of shows with movies since we stream everything nowadays. 3. Don't look down on people who disagree with you...unless they are outright hateful. 4. Ki-Adi-Mundi did NOT break canon bcuz NO info regarding a “Sith” or a red lightsaber made its way back to the Council…and all of the sources regarding Ki-Adi's age are all Legends. I can defend a lot of other nonsensical nitpicks about The Acolyte all day (I’ve already done so in each of my reviews for the series).

The arrogance of One, the hubris of 2, the failure of maaaannnnnny!!!!LOL Seriously though, Like it or not, the Skywalkers are the heart and soul of Star Wars. Sure, there's plenty of room for other stories, but Luke, Anekin/Vader are the beating heart of Star wars.
@TheCosmicCorridor
@TheCosmicCorridor Ай бұрын
LOL good one. But agree to disagree. Yes, the Skywalkers were the foundation obviously. But they are what we grow beyond. Revan, Mando, Grogu, and even Qimir are proof that Star Wars can and should move on. Anakin has served his purpose to death...literally. It's just beating a dead horse at this point and they risk ruining their canon each and every time they use him. Luke on the other hand...maybe you can tell more stories with him...but right now is a bad time and would just feel like a cry of desperation. Star Wars needs to prove that they are alive and well WITHOUT the Skywalkers.

Oh men, your point of rebuttal are not very thoughtful. Before making a rebuttal, use a good point, not your feelings, and beside, you are not George Lucas and really need to be more informative on the lore; you really need more reading and studying about Star Wars. The people you are naming are not even heaters, and that is bad quality on your end. TBH, I only see insulting and calling names. You will not grow as a good channel if you don't allow different opinions as yours, and you should be more thoughtful. I hope you learn and become a better person in the future. Film is art. Art is subjective. Basically all you can base your thoughts on regarding pop culture are your own feelings. Your own state of mind can impact how you view / enjoy a movie or a show. I have watched movies in the past and I was in a bad mood, and I didn't enjoy the movie as much as the second time I watched it. With all that said...all of the lore I referenced in this video is accurate. I know my Star Wars lore, I know what a Deathraven is. Furthermore, in my rebuttal I gave an example of someone who I disagree with but still respect and follow. However, I draw the line with people who are HATEFUL--including people who support or surround themselves with other hateful people. Lastly, SW Theory name calls all the time (calling Sol "soy" or SW Explained "sackless"); I only name-call when I am calling out hateful people...also, I was doing a play on words with hateful KZbinr names. 41:03

Nothing to do with the Skywalkers for me, I loved Andor but the Acolyte was so badly written... It was awful, that's why it failed. "The power of manyyyyyy" was cringe and funny, trouble is I don't think they were going for giggles. I think you making this connection of people wanting "more Anakin" as a reason for the Acolyte failing is a poor one. You may have loved it but most didn't, not because women were in it, not because people of colour were in it, but because it was poorly written. Killing Eve was written by a women, two female leads, with a female assassin, themes of same sex relationships etc. That was given further seasons because people enjoyed it, and wanted more. Not the case with the Acolyte

I just think with Star Wars specifically (more than any other fandom) the amount of trolls I see on the various socials is insane. But I really do respect your opinion and I'm sorry the show didn't work for you. I will say I thought "the power of many" quote was a little off-putting ...but it was kinda supposed to be; its a witch seance scene and we don't know whether to trust these witches or be weary of them. Also, the full quote challenges both ideologies of the Jedi (chosen "one") and the Sith (rule of "two")...perhaps neither of those aforementioned ideologies are correct...perhaps it is about the power of many. I thought the idea of a new force cult was fascinating.

18:16 I don’t like it that Luke died. And I don’t like that the sequels didn’t have much to do about him (I’m old and saw IV in the theater and have waited my whole life for more adventures of Luke Skywalker). But when you think about his death, it is the most epic death ever. They set up the idea that matter can transfer itself through the force by showing things like Kylo’s hand getting wet after speaking with Rey through the force. I’ve always figured that when Luke takes all those laser blasts while force projecting they are damaging him and caused his demise. Which is pretty darn epic.

7:39 no information about a Sith or a red light saber made its way back to the Jedi counsel so the people saying the show broke cannon in that regard were completely wrong. But then they went and actually put Kiadi Mundi on the show when he wasn’t even born yet.

@TheCosmicCorridor Ай бұрын
Exactly. However, everything about Ki-Adi's age was Legends...as far as I know...and I'm willing to be proven wrong. But all of the "proof" of Ki-Adi's age in the new Disney canon that others have showed me, such as comics/books and character cards, were all made BEFORE the Disney acquisition. And even if it was mentioned in a Disney canon novel or comic, Filoni himself has ignored those on several occasions and retconned them the way he sees fit (like in the case of Kanan's origin) ; so again, I don't understand the HUGE backlash surround Ki-Adi in The Acolyte.

I can't wait for this documentary to come out. I saw the original movie of him, and I never bothered to watch another Batman movie after Christopher's accident. I still get affected by his acting in the original film. This documentary will probably bring up all those emotions again. It is such a sad story but a very heroic story of survival by a real-life hero. His accident and recovery inspire all of us to keep positive and keep going to our fullest potential. I believe the documentary should begin with his movie, as many people never saw it when it was first released many years ago. It's important to show the viewer how his character's status at that time in his life had an impact. Otherwise, the rest of the documentary will just be about another guy recovering from an accident. Once the actor's summary is completed, the rest of the documentary will focus on his personal struggles and how he overcame a devastating period for him and his family. The main theme of the documentary is the power of hope. It should be an interesting watch! Tony

Yes, I like the upgrade, especially the lighting for your face. I've always wanted to complement the clarity of your voice, and that's attributed to your microphone. It's an interesting style, compact, but functional. The stand looks like a black lightsaber with a microphone attached. I'm still trying to get over the cancellation, but I'm handling it. Disney is slowing down, just like Marvel. They were producing too much content that wasn't well done. Now, they will go back to a less frequent schedule to allow more time to develop content and storytelling that fans will appreciate. The Stage Craft production studios (the Volume) in Manhattan Beach is where all the Star Wars live-action productions are filmed, with the exception of Andor and Acolyte. Scheduling at the studios is limited as they are shared with James Cameron (Avatar 3). Lucasfilm is currently using the volume for Jon Favreau's Mandalorian movie, and after that production is finished, the stages and the small outdoor production site will be used for Avatar and then Ahsoka. I live nearby, so I get to see what's being filmed. Based on production shooting time (4-8 months) and post-production (8-12 months), this means that Ahsoka Season 2 will shoot during the second half of 2025 will likely premiere on the premier anniversary of Season 1 (Aug -Sept 2026), with the Manorlorian Movie May 22, 2026. From that point, we will likely only see one live-action series and one movie every year or even less. Remember that for the OG (1977-1983) and the Prequels (1999- 2005), there were only six movies, period over that period. Since Disny+ was created and The Mandolorian premiered, we fans have been inundated with so much Star Wars content that we have gotten used to getting content all year long. We are Spoiled. Now that Disney is cutting back, we are all getting upset. I would rather have a few well-done series than a bunch of mediocre ones. Please don't abandon Star Wars. Give Dave and John a chance to shine, they know the universe, the other produces that were brought in didn;t and it showed. The other producers who wanted to make their own movies have now abandoned their plans. It's only Dave and John left, with the Rey movie and the Jedi beginning movie. The live action series has run its course and will end up unfinished. It's tough but necessary to focus on well-done limited series and movies following the Lucasfilm story group that owns the timeline. I can see that you're very affected by what has happened to Star Wars. I understand. The cancellation of the Acolyte also affected me a lot, with the haters winning the battle and Disney falling into their trap. But I'm in it for the long run. I have been since I saw "Star Wars" in 1977. There have been years when I had to wait for another movie or anything. I feel blessed to have so much Star Wars content now, and I don't have a problem waiting for better-produced content. Don't worry about the ranting; you needed to get that off your chest. Tony.

Greatly appreciate your words of wisdom as always, Tony! We are definitely spoiled. And like I mentioned on the show--I think because we constantly stream movies and shows now--people conflate the quality of shows with the quality of films now...and that is just totally unfair. With that said, Marvel and Star Wars definitely need a reset; they need to put more time and effort into fine-tuning their cinematic universes (even with their shows) and making sure everything is coherent and unified. I personally hope they get back to the good ole' days--tripling down on film--and dial it back on these streaming shows. I am not giving up on Star Wars entirely...yet. But it is going to take a lot for them to win me back and make the needed adjustments I talked about. Lastly, I did forget to mention on the show today that I am VERY intrigued by James Mangold's "Dawn of the Jedi" project / trilogy...but at the same time...again, I don't know if I trust Disney taking on that MASSIVE piece of Star Wars lore just yet...and will it yet again create more issues for the overall canon/continuity. We shall see.

@@TheCosmicCorridor I forgot to mention Marvel. It's in the same trap, not because of canon issues, but just plain awkward storytelling and direction after the Infinity Saga concluded. There are a few good ones, but many since the end of "Endgame" have been duds. I agree they too need a reset. I think Kevin Feige is forthcoming with a new focus. Bringing back Robert Downey Jr. will reinvigorate the franchise and he will make a great protagonist.

I do remember "Time Bandits." I used to have it on VCR, but unfortunately, it got lost. I need to find an alternative way to watch it again. It was a fun movie. I find the constant color background less distracting, but it would be nice to choose a different color for each show or franchise. One suggestion is to have the top shelf slanted so we can see the entire set of toys and not just the lights underneath. You can use earthquake putty to stick the toy to the shelf, and then use some shims (like a matchbook or a wooden depressor) to lift the back of the shelf up so it slants downward. Check with your camera until the bottom of the shelf disappears (including the lights). That way, we can enjoy all the toys in their entirety and the lights will still do it's job. Best, Tony. I really enjoy your vocal delivery style - it's calm, clear, and informative, and it helps me stay focused on what you're discussing. Often, I switch off when I hear terrible vocalization or dramatics from others, but you're doing well just being yourself. That's what makes you stand out. Keep it up!

Thank you so much for all the great suggestions & feedback as always, Tony! Also, I definitely recommend getting Time Bandits again. I am always on Apple TV checking the same movies to see when they go on sale; sometimes you can get those kinda movies for, like, $4.99 digitally; Amazon is another great place for physical copies of movies.

Lastly...yes...if you can't tell with these last two videos...I am trying a lot of new stuff out. I think a BRAND NEW camera angle is on its way yet again...but sadly it may cut out that top shelf. I am trying to get the camera closer to me but still have some figures seen and some of my desk (bcuz without the desk sliver...my wife says it looks like I'm floating awkwardly in front of the camera LOL). But I will figure it out. I was hoping to have it all down by now but everyday is a learning curve ;)

OH! I understand what you were asking here now. No, this action figure line is not dead, that was never what was in question. Hasbro still has the overall rights to Power Rangers (and thus Paramount has the movie rights). What was in question is whether BOOM! Studios would still be able to make comic books for Power Rangers; and at SDCC, it was announced that Hasbro will continue to allow BOOM! Studios to make new comics after all.
