So basically, to sum it up his wife refused to have children with him, so he tries multiple suicide attempts. Only the fail at said suicide attempts, then sees his wife, trapped in a burning building and attempts to rescue her, but after finally retrieving her body from the burning building, she dies in his arms of smoking inhalation. This is one of the darkest old cartoons I’ve ever seen and I love it!!!!!

She doesn't actually die. The real ending was cropped because the reel wasn't fully recovered. It would have been poorly received on its time if she died in his arms, specially for the dumb happy music on the end.

My guesses as to what the missing ending is: 1. Ortensia gets back together with Oswald, gives him a big hero's kiss, and they live happily ever after. 😊 2. Ortensia STILL rejects Oswald, and slaps him...EVEN THOUGH HE JUST SAVED HER LIFE! 😠

It has the title card as the preview image. I rarely visit the Lost media wiki, but the thought of casually watching the notice board and seeing the title card of a Lost Oswald cartoon (Winkler expecially) gives me the chills. Like come on, I would have an heart attack or something. I still remember when Hold em Ozzie was new and It was featured on the notice board.

Any clue how many frames per second this is? I want to try my hand at colorizing it and plan to do it the old fashioned way by going over each frame, and I can use VLC Media Player to split the video, but I'm not sure what ratio to put it at....

I'm the only person here who could possibly have consequences, and that's even an assumption since Universal would have little to no reason to fight for a short that they never intended to release and won't actually give them any profit. Since this short entered public domain, literally ANYONE of you have the right to upload, copy, download, share, stream, and use it for anything you want to do. And you don't have to ask anybody for permission since it's illegal to prevent the usage of Public Domain media.

I find it hilarious they're lecturing some of you for supposed misbehaving and "damaging" the lost media community since most of those people are kids that shouldn't even be able to watch this video as it was locked for 18 yo, and that means they're violating KZbin's TOS. I don't really mind if any of you guys do that kind of tricks, since its not my business and I'm nobody to judge how you use your accounts. (I even did it back in the day) I just won't say it's morally good either. Just live and let live.
