The Logging Camp only produces 12cars (36 logs) of logs per siding per day, your train is 8cars, so max 1.5 trains per day. Once the Saw Mill is running tier 3 or higher, you need to start using the other supply sidings - I've found that 4 cars to L1 is sufficient for tier 3, you can run 3 trains (12 cars) there per day... and it keeps up the daily supply. While L3 is longer (about 6 cars), since you're pushing up, it's less convenient, as a trailing siding.

I think about it sometimes but it's not on the immediate cards. A build series would have to be for the enjoyment of playing as views for the last series weren't great. It didn't even have an end episode and no one seemed to care. It's very difficult to get motivated to do it if no one watches. I don't have very much time at the moment either. Lots of things irl to deal with. I was thinking of maybe driving some routes. That might happen. We'll see.

I've use loads of modded track but the one type of track I haven't used is anything that rolling stock might park on. My worry is that the game has an update which stops the track mod working and the rolling stock on it is gone. Mods thus far when needed have been updated pretty fast and the worst outage has only been a few hours but if the game has a large update it could happen. A lot of these larger tack mods adding sidings or loops look great and have good feedback on Discord. But losing progress on the series would be a shame. That said I have thought about doing a single video looking at these track mods and what would happen to rolling stock if the mod broke. But as usual time is the factor stopping me so this kind of video. Too many things irl.

So the good thing about this game is your cars go into a “lost and found” which makes you place the entire consist on a good piece of track. While playing with mods to figure out what ones I wanted to use and which ones I wanted to take away this happened a bunch. The only time the game got weird was when it decided cars that needed delivered had to go back to the interchange, but they just came again on the next roll over.
@bluewizard
@bluewizard 3 күн бұрын
I've lost wagons in a past update which is in a video somewhere. Some were still there in the consist on the next game load and some weren't. Hose pipes were still open letting out air for the remaining cars. This wasn't modded track or cars it should be said, things just disappeared after an update. I can go into god mode just replace them of course but being a series I try to keep consistency. That said I was very tempted to try the double (duel) track mod the other day. That would solve many issues.

Best place for the passenger train is Bryson.... or maybe Alarka. But Bryson has enough room for the locomotive and 3 passenger cars in one repair track, so you can fix them all every night. I'm still trying to figure out how to maintain the log cars... and the coal cars!

The closest I can think of is Trainz has multiplayer building support so multiple people can help to build a single map at the same time. I'd suggest to visit their site forum for more info and chat with other players to see how well that works as I've not tried it. The latest version of the game as if writing this is Trainz 22 platinum.

There was a bit of a signal bug, basically any point switched against the main through route past the signal could result in a red - So, if you'd left the Alarka Junction switched for the works train the Bryson West signal would be red. At this time you could alleviate the problem, by installing the signals down to Alaka Junction - this adds a split at the Alarka Junction entrance, so the Bryson West signal is only indicating as far as mid-point to Hemmingway.

@@bluewizard yeah I've been seeing a lot of modded playthrough on Hyce's and Angry Ragtimer's channel, which are really helpful. But it would be neat to see if the developers could pick up on some of those and implement in a patch. So some of those can be stable to the core game upon further game updates.
@bluewizard
@bluewizard 11 күн бұрын
I'm running quite a few mods on this play through but I'm certainly careful adding modded track in. I do have extra crossovers here and there which helps with movements but not much else. I'm weary what would happen if an update breaks a track mod and you have locos or wagons parked on that modded track? So far broken mods have been fixed within hours of updates and game saves have continued to load even if a mod is broken so it's likely fine. So I do agree I would prefer an in-game method to add this kind of track in. Either a milestone as you say or an in game editor or something. Something that can't be broken.

Most steam trains don't have a speedometer - it's usually a retrofit on heritage locomotives which run on mainline services. However, LNER fitted them to their P2 and A4 locomotives... and to their first class restaurant cars, for the benefit of passengers who were interested in that sort of thing. While this game is based in 1950's, the starter locomotives, and others up to about 20klb tractive effort, would have been built way prior to this date.

@bluewizard
@bluewizard 12 күн бұрын
I don't think it's that bad. There is a compromise in order to hit 60fps. You can lengthen the render distance some more. I think Ive for it set for 120% for the track with the scenery a little lower but FPS does die the longer you have it.

the reason the lines at Grovane is fenced off is because the standard gauge line doesn't serve it anymore and the trains pass through at speed, the heritage line has an agreement with the operator where they block the mainline with magnets showing the block as occupied setting signals to red before they allow pasenger onto Setedalsbanens platforms to avoid putting people in danger off being hit by a speeding train.
@bluewizard
@bluewizard 12 күн бұрын
Oh... I see. I didn't realise the mainline didn't stop there and simply presumed when any train stopped at the station the gates were opened and people were let on. Interesting they use magnets to set the signals. Great info. Cheers.

A few nice drops there - I think part of the challenge is that you're running the locomotive with the reverser at 100%, which limits top speed to about 15mph. You release the cars at around 12-13mph, so the locomotive doesn't have the steam to get a good lead. Options would be to cut the cars at 7mph or reduce the reverser to give you more time to open a lead and throw the switch.
