Did they really sound this good live? They're all almost in their 40's around this time and they look ageless. Even Continental European bands had a different standard than British and American. They had to be good.

Alsoanonymous duckling youre way wrong ,you have a narrow view of what Goth is. Post punk can be Gothy,because Goth culture cross hatches many genres and sub genres. Theres even gothick rap.lol. I respect your interest in the music but youre wrong about a few of your statenents. ALSO Broaden your horizons on MUSIC, you have an inaccurate understanding of the bands i mentioned, and i guarantee you that its much much broader then you think.

OK. I CONSIDER COLD WAVE ,DARKWAVE ALL sub genres of goth, goth industfial (velvet acid christ), goth metal (type o negative), goth rock (sisters of mercy,christian death). Skinny puppy (industrial). Goth is a way of thinking, a way of being nit just a song genre. I dont label myself as anything specific because i love All sorts of music especially old punk,and darker type of direction (dsrk wave,cold wave,death rock,goth rock etc) . Check out my old punk band from the 80s. ITS CALLED "THE INFANTS OF SIN). I was 15. I m very well educated in musical genres esp. Rockn roll (all sorts of ). I would have loved to talk to someone about music but on a more friendly note (Goth Police). I guarantee you that in 48 years ive played in many bands and have known many lical -type musicians,raised by one and married to one so please, if you want to discuss music,lets not have a pissing contest. Im not "goth" or "punk",im just a low-key artist who lives on the darker side if the moon and constantly labled as this or that sub culture. GOTH CULTURE is so broad and has crossed and mixed with many other genres forming millions if "goth sub cultures. As for "waves", when we talk about lables cold wave music,dark wave, goth rock etc always got promoted in so called "Goth clubs,shows from my experience,so in my opinion the lable "goth" also fits dark wave,cold wave ,horror wave (lol) since were talking about lables. Its fun for me to talk about music,but k only wish that you werent so judgemental, because you are also incorrect for correcting somebody thats very well aware if the "lables" and they are all si closely related its silly to nit pick. Some of the bands i mentioned have played in more then just one style,they morphed from one genre into another like "Ministry" for examle. They started out kind of "wavy", then turned into a hard core Industrial metal sound. I dont get so hung up on labling ,though as a music fan its important to understand the different types of mysic and where they come from. I wasnt Way off like you said,i was correct,but you wanted to prove your superiority by nit picking at the fact i called all those styles of music "goth", because thats the kind of crowd that follows that type of music. There are far stupider opinions here in the comment section and you zeroed in on the wrong guy, im quite experienced at music znd also build stages fof various bands for a living and grew up in the "waves" and goth era and have a very good idea of what im talking about. Whats the point if having a pissing match?

So the whole Satanism talk began with my response to someones comment. They said something along the lines of"oh, this band is the only non satanic goth band thats why i like them. I responded with a series of remarks. ANONIMOUS DUCKLING,I'M SORRY FOR FLYING OFF THE HANDLE ON YOU, i took offence to your question,but since you didnt know i sure the Satanism talk seemed irrelavent. 😈

for once and ever: goth's are no satanists : we all got jobs, kids, a normal family but yes we like 'the dark(er) siede of a kind of music, with a scene around it.. i am a christian and i love and adore the goth music scene, so what :)

I like this comment. I feel much the same. I've found in my own Christian spiritual journey a sort of acceptsnce of myself that I can be drawn to goth music and aesthetic, and that does not have to be at odds with one another. Electronic brooding music, and black, awesome looking clothing are simply musical and fashion choices, just as other people have other taste. It's validating to see that there are others drawn towards this scene who also desire Christ.
