Here from all the bodycam footage lol, such a normal looking city for somewhere that’s got so many…interesting characters 😂

I think the guy who runs Code Blue Cam has a connection within police in that county. I doubt La Crosse has more criminals than other cities. it's just that they are all highlighted on the internet thanks to Code Blue Cam

Look at these gorgeous houses. Classic midwest America. So much potential. There is no reason in the world this could not be a nice neighborhood, except the community has to want it to be.
@exploreusacities2 күн бұрын
You are totally correct sir. People wonder why some neighborhoods turn to poop and the reason is because the people who live there let it happen.

Love the content, rolling through towns and cities, but honestly why are most of these places devoid of life. Never see kids on the streets, people strolling along through the towns, folks in their gardens, just desertion. Everywhere you look, nobody.

No one is having kids. Also, this is an extremely dangerous city. Kids play video games at home now.

I've never been there, but I've read about it. It looks like the former mayor was really competent, and that can make a difference. He also spearheaded roundabouts (and some of them required 200+ pages of environmental studies before they could be built). The architecture is also nice - instead of silly modernist buildings, there's sort of a federalist style, and that makes the city look nice. Nice architecture was sort of enforced by the city as well - it wasn't obligatory, but was nudged through tax credits and such. In the two dense areas, they've put parking underground to achieve density and walkability. Having competent leadership is really important. And a leadership with a vision. Portsmouth, New Hampshire sort of has similar vibes - brick sidewalks, older style buildings, better architecture (but no roundabouts really).

Really nice, quaint, clean town. Right next door to Southern Illinois Univ. Nice big houses on big lots. I wouldn't mind living here if the taxes weren't so high. If I lived here I would go to all the home games at Southern Illinois.

Thanks for another video clip. I went to this town about 5 years ago and I saw many people who were walking or hanging around the circle. Somehow there were very few people in this video clip. There is a very good restaurant called 20’s hideout. Check it out if you still in the area. Have a great time.

I went there in July 2010 to play in the pro tennis tournament Being from the South it was strange to see the Walmart run down not even a Supercenter and a big union strike downtown. Walmart is my Alabama towns biggest employee and the union is dead here. No union jobs in the whole town except for the educators and a few electricians and welders. The people were real nice. One end of town, the Western side had a couple of parks and schools just real nice. The other end smelled bad. That's where all the plants were but when you drive through there, Lake Decatur was pretty. Their was a lot of jet skiers and some of fishing 🎣 tournament was going. It is stucka not in the past. But the Decatur Conference Center was real nice and up to date where I played was real good for us tennis players. They treated us like kings. They lost their sponsor for the tournament in 2023. But Sufjan Stevens wrote a song about this town.

Don’t move to Oklahoma City. Not that it’s bad. The surrounding towns are getting over populated since there’s too many people moving here. And none of the locals really like it. And we don’t really want to be more overpopulated with out of state people moving in. Fix your state or go somewhere that’s not Oklahoma. I’ve heard that Nevada and Canada are nice.
