I've got to say I've been impressed with Stearns' and Hefner's ability to develop pitchers like Manaea, Severino and Qintana into above average pitchers this year and am optimistic about the moves they already made this off-season. I think they learned from a few seasons ago signing Scherzer and Verlander to massive contracts and are probably better served developing lower priced pitchers and trusting their coaching staff. At least they can spend that money on solidifying the lineup and know that they can hopefully resign Alonso

Mets need to go re-sign Alonso then sign Burnes and Manaea or Pivetta
@MrShadow199310 сағат бұрын
Stearns is not creative, not aggressive. Good names coming off the board and the Mets are hibernating. Yes Soto is nice but this team as of now is not better, pitching is pitiful. What are we on a budget now? Is this Milwaukee? Nothing around Soto? Is Stearns Alderson 2.0? It’s like he wants to save money with rentals. Bad approach,

I agree we have the weakest number 1 starter between the top Nl teams Our top 3 batters aren't better than the Dodgers not better then the Braves with a healthy Acuna and neck and neck with the Phillies The Yankees have better starting pitching and There top hitter is better then ours

I agree 100 percent. Instead of Soto, I would rather sign Alonso, Santander, and PITCHING!!!!!! Soto is not worth 765 million dollars. He is a great hitter, no doubt about it, but defensively is an average defender.

@carminebasilicata6755, are you delusional? The best leadoff hitter in the game is Francisco Lindor hands down.

I’ll pass for what they are going to want. Teams trading with us knowing that we are in need are going to try to rape us. Better to trade from strength. Our owner is persona non grata among the other clubs. They hate him like we as Mets fans love him and are going to try to stick it to us whenever at all possible. Again,I’ll pass and make some small trades on the fringes. I want us to build a dynasty and we are not going to accomplish this if we go for the quick fix sugar rush. Patience is a virtue in this business. LGM💙🧡.

I would rather trade Marte to Arizona to the D-Backs for Jordan Montgomery as well as send Jeff McNeil to the Yankees for Marcus Stroman, give Acuna and Maurico a chance at 2b and DH regardless of whether Alonso re-signs and Vientos goes to 3b or they trade for Arenado's 52 million over the next 3 yrs for basically nothing and put Vientos at 1b.
@TheMacdod16 сағат бұрын
Dbacks want Montgomery money off the books. Marte trade makes no sense. Marcus Stroman 2.0 ? He sucked before. Mauricio not likely to get called up this year after so much down time. Noone is touching Arenado.

@TheBaseballHut Everyone knows Soto will go to Mets, because Mets willing to pay and Soto want money. when did I talk down Mets fans? I have more respect towards mets fan than the Yankees who delusional thinking Soto will stay there and willing to take a discount. But then again Mets never in the front row in term of Sasaki, I just want you guys to wake up that's all. ~His Good friend in Padres. ~His hero in Dodger. ~The bulk of Japanese population in US in Western state. ~Japan is near Western state. ~ Money not a problem so Mets don't get any advantage. ~ if he don't want Japanese in the club out of respect like Othani, Mets already have Senga. ~if he want to be the Star Mets also out. ~if he want to win Dodger will have the highest chance. ~if he want smaller team Mets again not included.. The ods just stack against Mets that's all.

@johncallery814Күн бұрын
@@TheBaseballHut Maybe, But some team will give him $30mil/year x 10 years. He will be most likely be a part time player by 37. Spend an extra $57 million and get it done Steve. I think its ridiculous to throw away a chance at winning the World Series because of $57 million. This is probably Pete's last paycheck and it is his time to get paid. Additionally, the dollar has lost 50% of its purchasing power in the last 8 years so expect to see contracts increase for the next decade or longer.

There is such an anti Met sentiment out there in the media with a few exceptions, want us to play second fiddle to Skankees. That is b.s! The Yankees always overspent on Free agents going back to the 70's. The Yankees are responsible for consistently driving up prices from inception of Free agency.
