Thank you for saving Tonka… and all these beautiful primates. He looks so happy, so different from what we saw on Chimp Crazy. Locked in a basement eating Happy Meals 🙄 so happy that he is finally safe and able to live out his life with other chimps❤

We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals. Remote from universal nature, and living by complicated artifice, man in civilization surveys the creature through the glass of his knowledge and sees thereby a feather magnified and the whole image in distortion. We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. Other Nations And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth. Henry Beston, The Outermost House: A Year of Life on the Great Beach of Cape Cod,[New York: Ballantine Books (1971 (1928], 19-20)

These female chimps look vert sweet and docile. Are female chimps less aggresive than the males?

Thank you creating this Tonka update! After watching the HBO documentary, this montage served as Episode 5, the true ending to that series. My heart is full. Thank you for your work! I have donated to your cause.

After I learned how these magnificent creatures were used in research labs, it broke my heart 💔. I thought, how could anyone be so cold and cruel? I will never believe that animal testing is "necessary". So, the Chimps who endured animal testing many years ago deserve their dignity and TLC. I love to see the joy on your faces even if you have challenging days. Your job is admirable in my book. You should all be proud of your compassion. The history of Chimp cruelty can not be erased, but you all do a wonderful job to help heal their tragic lives. God bless you. I love to watch the Chimps roam freely and share friendships.That is what love about. Thank you 🙏🐒💗🐾🐾

Three of Jody's kids (Andrea, Bart, and Clay) actually live at STC! Neggie's daughter, Angel, and Annie's son Virgil (and Damian, who has since passed) and her daughter Mariah do as well! Foxie's daughter, Angie the 1st, is also at STC! Lots of CSNW residents have kids at STC!

And not a happy meal or Gatorade in sight! What a wonderful end to a truly harrowing story. Watching the HBO documentary about Tonka’s life was hard; so disturbing and heartbreaking to see such a majestic creature in such circumstances - this clip has brought it full circle though, my heart is bursting to see him live out his best life in such wonderful surroundings. Well done StC, well done PETA, well done everyone involved in saving Tonka!

Thank you Save the Chimps! 💜✨💜 a genuine question: why are the islands not filled with trees? 🙏
@StarlightPrism
@StarlightPrism 9 күн бұрын
I don't why this sanctuary in particular doesn't have a lot of trees, but, I've read that in a lot of captive ape facilities, they go with fewer trees in part because apes can be very destructive to vegetation. Trees don't last long. Trees being more destructible also means that they can become a safety hazard, or chimps could use them to escape in the right circumstances. Artificial climbing structures may not resemble their natural environment, but they serve the same purpose of providing shade, climbing area, and enrichment.

Thank you so much Save the Chimps for rescuing, caring for, and loving sweet Mickey. 🙏❤ She is beautiful. ❤To anyone who reads this, please don't support animal cruelty, and boycott animal tested products as much as you can. Please buy cruelty free hygiene products and cleaning products for your home. Also, please go for natural medicine instead of artifical and toxic medicine from the horrible Pharma industry! Thanks.
