Did you have any issues with hyperflash when first installing. My dad just got a set of these for his bike. I installed them and now his turn signals do not work when you first turn the ignition on. However, if i turn the flashers on, cycle the ignition off and back on again, then turn the flashers off, the opperate as they should. If you start the bike or or turn ignition off they go back to not functioning.

Love what you did on with that bike. I am considering the EG Standard just for price and I don't want the entertainment electronics. I like my GW F6B, but I have always wanted an HD like you. Watching your video makes me feel like I am listening to myself in regards to the bike! Ride safe from a fellow West Texas rider.

Lots of roads around the Austin area. spicewood Springs road is good, and it’s right in town, so is Westlake drive. Hamilton Pool road will take you out to the hill country, just watch out for the hair pin turn. There is also a nice back road that will take you out to Lukenbach. Then the sky is the limit once you get out there.

@texasgrunt5699 11 ай бұрын
Thanks, you're right about there being a lot of great roads to ride in central Texas. I've been out on many rides with my local HOG chapter who always plan great routes. Lime Creek road was my favorite road to ride when I first bought my bike. I plan on riding out to Lukenbach in the near future.

I went even cheaper with a 2002 Electra Glide Classic. Only thing I don’t like is the factory tour pack. It’s gigantic and looks dated, so I may swap it out for one like yours to make the bike look more modern. I may update the inner fairing too, to get a radio like yours. Do you keep those lowers on in the summer? The heat has been brutal in Austin this year. I just got my bike this week, and can’t wait to start putting some miles on it. Nice bike you have. You did a good job with the upgrades.
@texasgrunt5699
@texasgrunt5699 11 ай бұрын
Swapping your tour pack to the newer style should be pretty easy. I keep my lowers on during the summer, I just open the vents and I haven't had any issues. I do have highway pegs on the engine guards that I use a lot during the summer. You should come to one of HOG meetings at the dealership, a great group of riders.

I found the deal during a special event at my dealership where they were hosting a swap meet. People were able to setup tables outside in the parking lot. The parts department had a couple of tables set up inside and that's where I found the best deals (so far).

Thanks, aftermarket is the way to go with cosmetic parts. Harley parts can be very expensive. I try to research the parts before I buy them, so far I'm very happy with parts that I've purchased so far. I did have to replace the latch on the tour pack recently (probable will do a video about it). Advanblack makes good products.

Harley messed up by not keeping the Electra Glide Standard because of the price and what you can do with it. Now a base model SG or RG is something like $26 and still has the 107 engine. Good job on yours, enjoyed the video and discussion. I've had 2 Harleys with Progressive suspension front/rear and they ride so much better than stock.
@texasgrunt5699
@texasgrunt5699 Жыл бұрын
I agree completely, not everyone can afford those prices. Which Progressive shocks did you install, I've been looking Progressive shocks for awhile now. Their prices aren't bad but I don't mind spending more on the suspension for comfort and safety.

@@texasgrunt5699 The 944 Touring series is what is on my used 2012 Street Glide now and I think that is what I put on the 2015 CVO as well. All I can say is the ride is so much better as I like soft and comfortable now.

Bike looks great! Good job with that blank slate. You’ve done pretty much everything I have done on my old carbureted 2002 Electra Glide Standard except the lower fairings. I just use a set of soft covers when it’s cold out. Mechanically speaking, I did do a stage 1 and 2 kit on mine. Nothing else needs to be done to her now except just get out and ride.
@texasgrunt5699
@texasgrunt5699 Жыл бұрын
Thanks, I thought about buying the soft covers first but went ahead and bought the lower fairing when I found some for $100 on Amazon. I may go ahead and get the stage 2 kit later this year.

@@texasgrunt5699 …. $100 bucks for the hard lower fairings is a steal. I have seen those too and thought about it, but I’m in New Mexico where it can get blazing hot and I like the air flow from down below so I didn’t pull that trigger. And in my opinion, stage 2 is the best bang for the buck on a Harley. Especially an older one like mine. No regrets with that upgrade. I took the old girl out for a ride today and after 20 years, she still purrs like a kitten and roars like a lion when she wants to.
