A very rewarding experience had by all and an emotional one as well. Now, just wondering why on the arches of the memorial it says trail instead of track? Trail is an American word as opposed to track which is definitely Australian. 🤔🙄

Sorry I didn’t get it. Did they run from the base camp to the finish line after walking up there?

Such an amazing and inspiring documentary! I loved it and I cried most of the video 😅 I will be running Everest next year and I can't wait to meet the amazing people along with the breathtaking surroundings. Ps: as an experienced marathon runner, I was shocked when one of the guys said that he never run a marathon before and yet he run his first at Everest, that's very impress although in my personal opinion I think thats very amateur and even though he probably has trained for it, if you are running Everest you should have run a marathon before at least once, however good for him, he did it 👏🏻. Thank you so much for sharing! You all are awesome 💪🏻⛰️🇳🇵😊

Wow, what a compliment! it makes us cry every time too! thank you though, it means a lot... It is truly an amazing experience, we will be back there next year so hope to see you, come and say g'day. Funnily enough most of the team hadn't run a marathon. All active and from sporty backgrounds but this was a first for most. my favourite quote is, "if I am only going to run one marathon in my life, I'm going to make it the Everest one" - Joy Leaper I hear your comment but everyone did have a proper training regime created for them, all the team and their trainers were confident in the process and the race.

The children are so happy they don't even realize how difficult their life is. Thank God they don't know any difference. The little girl was so darling wiping your tears away and telling you to be happy. So sweet. It blows me away how fast Nepal and all the other communities were built back after the big earthquake. It wasn't that long ago. I wish I could go on this trek but my back is so bad, just normal walking is difficult. Glad you all had fun. Thanks for sharing!

It is so incredible, not just the kids but all the locals are amazing. Sorry to hear about your back, we hope you got to live through the trek a bit through watching our journey. If it's appropriate maybe we can give you some tips for your back? Emma (from the trek) is a gun physiotherapist.

Father leaves in the middle of the night to go fishing at sea and mother gets up before dawn to buy fish at the market in the fishing port and then sell it in the villages. It is a daily scene, the fish sellers with their heavy baskets on their heads, walking in the blazing sun from street corner market to street corner market. Time and time again, hoisting those heavy baskets on and off their heads. I am always amazed. In several families there is no longer a father because he died or is missing at sea, or families without a mother or a seriously ill mother. The girls then stay at home at a young age to do the housework. The boys like to take their father out on the boat at sea or hang around the harbor looking for small jobs or join groups of card players or net repairers in the hope of making some money. As changemakers, you naturally need good alternatives to offer children a way to return to school. It has always been a challenge for SISP to find ways to continue to motivate these children to continue or resume their education. Thanks to a then Belgian intern, Jelle, a passionate surfer, and thanks to a former SISP student, Vineeth, a passionate skateboarder, we discovered that these were exceptionally motivating sports that kept many children interested in continuing their studies. We introduced the principle: No school, No Surfing, No School, No Skating. After my initial cynicism, it ultimately turned out to be incredibly wonderful to see how these sports give children perseverance, how children blossom, acquire self-assurance and self-confidence, and are ready for each other. These kids have felt and heard so many times that they are worthless, they are now discovering that they are good at skateboarding or surfing and, above all, that it is something they really enjoy doing. Catch that first wave and float, that first run with the wind in their hair. Being selected to participate in their first competition, being a winner, being called to the podium for a medal. It moves you to tears when you see them standing there, cameras flashing, proud as a peacock. Those who were always called hopeless, underprivileged. Sometimes you hear, “Does this really have to be in development cooperation? Surfing and skateboarding?” Believe me, it is extremely motivating for children to feel that they are good at something and are appreciated. Not only for them but also for the other kids, they become role models for the others, so to speak. They study and grow as little people into beautiful big people, with better work and a better life for themselves and their families. They do send their children to school. And isn't that what it's all about in the end? Not ? Actually mixed grip is more susceptible to a bicep tear on the arm with the bicep facing out. Just look up bicep tear videos and most of them will be from people doing deadlift prs with mixed grip.
@chocolateboxtraining

We agree, muscles and tendons are always susceptible when performing heavy lifts, particularly PR’s. Understanding your limits and progressively overloading them with a well planned program is always key!
