What hubs are you running ?
@jaylocyclingАй бұрын
@sita7688 I am running Paul hubs front and rear. I have the disk Fhub 28 hole with bolt on axle. On the rear it is the High Flange flip-flop fixed/free 28 hole bolt on axle. Both in black. The front hub allows for a disk to be mounted but u haven’t added a brake to the bike and not sure if I will.

Nice! What size tires can you fit one it? Currently I’m running 38s which is pretty decent for what I’m using this bike for. But mine will fit up to a 43.

How do you like them
@jaylocycling4 ай бұрын
They are good. I like them better than using a steer tube extender or flipping the stem upwards. I think I would prefer a little bit skinner version. They are really comfortable with the cruise control grips on them. See my full review on them at www.gravelcyclist.com/bicycle-tech/redshift-sports-top-shelf-handlebar-review-by-jason-lopez/

But how are they at reducing wind turbulence over your ears? For around $30 I’ve been using Windfree ear covers. They look like over the ear headphones but stop wind noise by preventing turbulence in and over your ears. I can use any earbud with my Windfree covers and do so with the volume set very low which allows me to hear my surroundings even better.
@jaylocycling5 ай бұрын
That looks interesting. I have not see that product before. I rode with a single ear bud for years, but personally I prefer an open ear system. Also, from what I have seen it is ilegal to use ear buds while cycling is various states and counties. (But is it really being enforced? 🤷🏻♂️) In fast riding or windy situations there will be wind turbulence noise which makes it harder to hear but for a majority situations it isn’t really a problem. Also I see no reason why the windfree covers couldn’t be used with these, but I’m not sure how it would perform. The good thing about these is the communication feature that allows you to connect with a group. Also these have dual mics that block out the wind noise to give clear feedback when talking to someone. Thanks for watching!

I bought a pair of the Aleck punks about two months ago. They worked well for a few weeks. Since about 4 weeks ago the right punk is not working anymore in the sense that no sound (music) is coming out of the right punk. I did several times a factory reset (at full battery) as indicated the Aleck support website. Did not made a change. I wrote an e-mail to the Aleck support team. They were unable to give me any advice which was helpful. I am now stuck with only the left punk working. I wrote back an e-mail asking to replace or reimburse me. Now 48 hrs later, no one is responding anymore. Extremely disappointed with this after sale support level. These punks are not cheap and I would expect another level of support if Aleck claims quality material.

It’s ok with only two mounts on the fork?
@jaylocycling8 ай бұрын
It is. The capacity is slightly reduced compared to using 3 bolts like on the Diverge STR or canyon. Interestingly though the STR and regular diverge forks have the same weight capacity. 2 bolts the capacity is 3kg (6.6 lb) 3 bolts is 4.5 kg (9.9 lb) per bag. The fork is rated for 6 kg total (13.2 lb). So on the specialized fork the limiting capacity is the fork and not the mount. My full review will be on gravelcyclist.com soon. I cover this in the review but good catch for noticing that. One thing though you have to use the top two holes of the mount if only using two bolts.
Can’t find any thing like this in my IQ app. Where is it ? What’s the name of? Thanks

It’s not in the IQ app. It’s in the data screens of the Garmin. Got to activity profile > select the profile to add it to > add screen > choose music controls.

You made the same mistake that I did while riding Dr. Ruth the first time! When you get to the rock pit area, the trail turns a hard left where you went straight to the rock climb. (That is actually the end of "Ant Hill") This is a very easy mistake to make as the "turn" sign for Dr. Ruth is PAST the turn! I wish the trail crew would place the sign before hand as the rock climb and the following rock decent are not "blue" features.

This place sucks bad and they charge you to ride
@jaylocycling Жыл бұрын
Sucks how? It is a Midwest trail system with not too much elevation to work with but they did a good job with what do have. They are some pretty standard XC trails that are good for all types of rider skill levels. I rode there quite a few years back and I enjoyed riding there. I don’t think they suck at all. A lot of parks charge, these trail systems require quite a bit of maintenance.

Garmin VIRB edit. I think it’s still around. You upload your ride data and video then can choose different gages. Then export it and do the rest of the editing in Final Cut Pro. It adds a bit of time to the editing process but it’s worth it.

Chaz thank you for watching. I’m glad you liked it. Griffin bike park has such an awesome place. I’m using a GoPro hero 8 with a k-edge out front mount xl combo which has the garmin mount on the top side and the GoPro mount underneath. The stabilization on the hero 8 is amazing. I’m also shooting at 1080p 30frame rate on the wide lens setting.

I wana take my chain off but is it legal?
@jaylocycling2 жыл бұрын
Not too sure about the legality. My bike is pedal assist so it doesn’t make too much sense to take it off. I was in process of cleaning the drive train but I wanted to take it out for a quick spin to test out some other repairs I had made. Around where I live there are quite a few steep hills and being able to pedal is a must since the motor isn’t that strong. If you have a large motor and large battery it might be fine. Definitely check the road rules in your area, most likely it would probably be fine.
