Hey Mr Boscoe..i really respect the fact your first thing you thought of when you were trying to describe what you see as success is that peoples families will be ok for the rest of their lives

you are right for the honesty in this interview to be really highly commended.. in my experience after very tough times in life it really changes how a lot of people view us if we do admit we are having difficulties.. I've seen it happen too often.. would love to hang out with you guys and chill sometime.. best wishes to you both

Developmental psychologist. Then specialising in sports psychology later in his career. I would assume. Psychologists correct me if I’m wrong.

dude, he has a long career of coaching top sports people.. he thought of a lot of what he teaches through actually thinking..i think you're looking at this skew wif.. he's not a "psychologist" he DOES sports psychology coaching.. you know, maybe listen to what he says to get the idea of what he does and who he's coached

Thank you for sharing this - very interesting. If I may make one point, the idea that we have a "potential" ("Maximise our Potential") seems to have serious issues. Do we draw from a finite well that defines whether we're capable of making it or not? Are we somehow genetically limited to a preset threshold? Modern neuroscience tells us otherwise. No doubt in sports there are physical limitations but even those can be overcome - short basketballers etc. Anyway - just my 2 cents worth. Cheers and thanks - Dave

Thanks for the message - you raise an interesting point. I personally believe that we do have a preset threshold in both our physical and mental capabilities. BUT most of us operate well below those thresholds and can always find a way to get closer to them, as well as discovering ways to work around them. Just my opinion!

I just watched a US cup commentated by an ESPN host who was clueless. Made me realise how good Charlie actually is. Happy to have him commentating so much of the IFSC. Good job, keep it up!

I can relate so much to what has been said about believing what we are supposed to believe with regards what we are told through academic class. In reality we learn our own way through our own experiences. When with my clients always indicate that I have never read a book, done a degree, course or workshop, PHD or research project on them, neither has (unless they have) any of the academic writers or teachers. The client hasn't either. We are doing 1st. (If that makes sense?). Great podcast.

Totally enjoyed this podcast. The candidness/honesty of Damian is like a breath of fresh air , the humility about being human, a coach and player & together forming a unique culture, and managing ego's & finding autonomy. Understanding ourselves. Well worth the listening to for all of us. :>))
